Dino has been a little off the pace hasn't he. I'm willing to give him time, it often takes foreigners a few weeks to get up to speed

The depth of strikers we have is poor.. Maybe a youth player to step up.. Kresinger looks tired and slow.. We need someone

Whos fast.. Reads plays and takes chances..

If we keep going like this i dunno where the goals will come from..

But wen they do.. It will erupt!

you can't.

they only released 1000 of them and epil9 bought them all with Shinji 21 on the back

hey!

not all of them have shinji 21 on the back.

On that note... how did shinji play tonight???

i would really consider dropping kresinger for the sydney derby. not because i have given up hope or anything, i just think the forward line needs to change the personal. personally i would try something different, in a 4231 formation

appiah kubi---ono---haliti

-------------------taj

i wouldnt mind seeing taj lead the line, with ono behind him. and this would give us some pace on the wings.

if its a draw, in the 70th min take taj off, bridge on. and bridge to score the winner in the 89th minute. whistle goes, pitch invasion. loving life. i can wish.

I was pretty happy with the performance, midfield is looking solid. Ono was all class. Just need to capitalise on our chances. Btw, cant believe the crowd was only 8500. What else is there to do in Adelaide??

Theres 2 kebab shops, 2 yiros shops, 4 adult shops and 7 massage places, and a few pubs.

Put Kresinger back to the bench, start Bridge in his spot and put Taj where Bridge is playing. Also put Kubi in Haliti place and Haliti back to the bench.

Experiencing a loss will only make the inevitable win a whole lot sweeter. Hopefully it comes next week at the expense of ESFC.

Hate to say it but Adelaide deserved the goal on the counter. Good pace that caught the defenders out of position. Adelaide seemed too easy to go to ground trying to milk the penalty. Would have settled for a draw. Forwards definitely need time work in their speed. But the counters showed promise. Bring on the Derby!

I've seen posts that it was "boring" I thought it seemed more free flowing than most games do far. Reckon WSW are attacking as promised but not compromising defense.

disappointing result, deserved a draw, but overall well played for just our second competitive game, first half we were the better team - best chance was poljak who hit a screamer from 25 yards out that galekovic somehow managed to save even tho he didn't know much about it, second half adelaide outplayed us slightly but still overall we had more and better chances. most of the game it was difficult for both sides to break thru but there was a strange 10 minute period in the second half that was end to end which included a soft penalty awarded against topor-stanley which covic saved and ended with us somehow getting caught so high on the counter from a corner with 2(or was it 3...) on 2 at the back from which adelaide scored.

we then created a couple more half chances and could/should have equalised with 3 minutes to go when haliti had a free header from a cross into the box but he got distracted somewhat by dino. it's already starting to feel a bit like scott mcdonald for the socceroos, so many chances but when are we gonna score?!

i know we are trying to play a passing game but we keep giving the ball away with bad passes except i think poljak who seems to always hit his target(need to check the replay) but he doesn't get the ball much, but the passing will improve as the season goes on.

i think i heard the crowd announced as 8950.

3 votes goes to covic for the penalty save and -3 votes to foxtel's andy maher for his awkward interview with adelaide goal scorer Jeronimo after the game...

Team: Covic, D'apuzzo, Topor-Stanley, Beauchamp, Polenz, Poljak, Kresinger, Mooy, Hersi, Bridge, Ono

Subs: Haliti, Elrich, La Rocca & Tyson

Second half subs: Haliti for Hersi, Elrich for Poljak

My take on the game is one of satisfaction. Im not concerned at the loss but rather how much popa would have learnt from this game.

Again defensively we were strong, but teh goal came from both CB getting caught high with not enough cover and Reds hit us on the break. So not something that would readilly repeat itself. So popa will be ok.

Midfield again neat, tidy and compotent. popa will be happy with our 6,8 and 10 play. Ono wa wee bit quiet and needs to not play so high and link more with his other mids.

Here comes the big issue. Other teams will start to press really high on us as Kressinger is slow. They will defend high and back themselves to beat us in a foot race or have the GK sweep high. What this will mean for our real strenght is our midfielders will be placed under far more pressure as they wil get squeezed more and that a big issue.

Unless we can get pace and better width in attack we are going to get squeezed and pressed into mistakes by our best players. The natural balls to wide playesr from mid is pretty low and we are not testing and pressurising other teams defenders.

We need more pace up front. Simple to say but not easy to find.

I thought we deserved a draw. I think where we are right now is brilliant and despite a loss we are well above schedule IMO.

I think Bridge should come off the bench to replace Kresinger during the match.

Appiah on left wing. Elrich or Cole on right wing. Which player stood flat footed just before Adelaide scored the goal? D'Apuzzo?

Well done lads. For a team only assembled a matter of months ago you are doing us proud.

Top level football and we are matching it.

Take pride when you pull on the jersey. You are representing footballs heartland and the cradle of football

In this country. A region that has contributed a disproportionate number of players to the national team.

You are also giving a voice to the people of Western Sydney. And so far you have embodied the spirit of the people of WS.

Passionate, tenacious, stubborn, and a never say die attitude.

These boys could have gone out looking for excuses for the first season. Instead they have gone out to prove people wrong.

Together we march forward shoulder to shoulder!

No goals from two games is certainly a worry.

Having said that we have set ourselves up perfectly to get off the mark next week at home against sfc..

Mooy easily best of the park for us.

Bridge :nono:

I found myself applauding his effort during the game, even cheering when he intercepted numerous balls. But then he would go to pass....straight to Adeliade.

Been away for a few days so first post since the game.

My views are:

Obvioidly first half was horrible, was realy hard to watch am i hope we never endure tgat again regardless if were a new team gelling. We were rushing and forcing terrible passez, Bridge was horrible and Dino really struggled.

Second half was much much better and was refreshing to watch.

- Haliti made a big difference when he came on, even though he had those missed chances he really threatened.

- Bridge really was horrible, even last season atleast his passes were sticking. He needs to really improve.

-Kresinger has work to do. Wether he needs more time to adjust or not, somethig needs to change.

- defense looks solid as ussual, we were unlucky that a stupid NTS pass in the attacking zone led to a counter.

Although D'Apuzzo feally struggled again, he needs to be dropped for the derby.

- was good to see Hersi play well, worled great with Ono. Polenz was solid, and Mooy was good. Poljak was solid but nothing great he works hard.

The lessons learnt from this match is we really need to stick to playing natural wingers with pace out wide, Bridge really stuffs up oir play out wide and centrally. The likes of Hersi, Kubi, Haliti and Minnecion own those spots amd they need to really push on past Kresinger as Haliti did and Hersi.

Ono needs to drop abit deeper behind Kresinger so he can be more pivotal.

My team for next week after this performance.

-------------Covic------------

Elrich--Beach--NTS--Polenz

--------Mooy---Poljak-------

---Hersi----Ono----Haliti-----

------Kresinger/Bridge---------

Bench:

Minnicion/Kubi

Bridge/Kubi

LaRocca

Tyson

Its not really a position i like seeing us in with 2 uninspiring performances from our top 2 striker options but giving them the benefit of the doubt. Kresinger has to be better on the ball to keep bit he pips Bridge for me with his horrible passing of late.

Either way i cant wait for next saturday!!!

Cmon wanderers!!!
