    Phoenix Pay The Penalty

Note 1: This win was the 9th in a row for Western Sydney, breaking the all-time A-League record previously held by Melbourne Victory. It equals the record of 9 games during the National Soccer League, held by three teams.
Note 2: Mark Bridge scored his 39th goal in the A-League, it pushed him into outright 5th on the all-time A-League goal scoring ranking.
Note 3: The Red & Black Bloc were involved in a silent protest for the first 20 minutes of the match. The protest was aimed at unjust bans handed out to 20 supporters by Football Federation Australia and their hired security firm Hatamoto.

The middle of the field already looks recked and its only 37 minutes into the first of three of the NRL games.... Eurgh. Feel for the players. Field's gonna be ****ed to play on tomorrow.

Is it coincidence that the (NRL) Warriors and the (HAL) Phoenix are playing at Parramatta in consecutive days?

Perhaps we could expect a large away turn out at Wanderland tomorrow???

Parramatta will be sold out of Fush n Chups!

13,351 for the Eels game today.  How much will that be exceeded by tomorrow.

They will need the roller on the ground tonight.  Its cut up a little.

The field from far looks good, come close and you can see its been torn up from the leg digging into it and the tackles...

also, we win tomorrow and we go 5 clear :)

ive never been so nervous for a match all season i don't know why, maybe cause the expecation is on us now, no longer under the radar, everyone is looking at us

phoenix have some players that can hurt us....they have everything to gain and nothing to lose so we must be fully prepared and focused.

watch out for gameiro...the kid can finish, is tough and is a raging bull with a never say die attitude.

lets hope parra eels move out to rosehill like they are requesting as they are bitchin about us using it,they also want parra stadium trust to build tem training ground next to stadium in carpark for $35mill i read in the paper this morning that means will be taken from upgrade funding put aside selfish ****ers

We need our BEST 11 on tomorrow, we need to treat tomorrws game as equally important as we treated the Victory adn the Mariners game, afetr the 20 minutes silence we need to push our team over the line, there is alot at stake for us tomorrow

  1. 3 points
  2. record for most wins in a row
  3. go 5 points clear
  4. go that much closer to being premiers

They just know they don't need the money for increased capacity :ninja:

Cue that pitch being the reason for some s*** to happen.

This.

I'm pretty nervous for this match, it can go either way. Hopefully the pulls can bring another win.

That's what it looks like (I went to drop off one of the drums earlier).

I spy with my little eye a "Welcome to Wanderland" sign... Did they take it down and put it back up? Or did they just leave it up?

Yeah. They had heaps of Eels logos and stuff up still, but this was at 10:30am, so it must have been fixed by now.

Never fear. We will smash the sheep shaggers. No way our players won't capitalise on the Mariners loss. The Premier's Plate is in our sights :)

Pitch is woeful.

Ball is bouncing a lot more over those NRL graphic field markings as it really looks bumpy in those areas.

Ball control has been a little bit hard for both sides.

PLayers also seem to over run it when the ball gets passed to them hence losing possession.

plus I forgot to mention players are slipping around the final 3rfd of the pitch on each end

Yeah these pitches weren't made for multi use conditions. The pitches here dont recover well from mid week matches.

Suncorp stadium still can't even even get the sand:dirt ratio right. Lol

not out best game.....gave away too much ball and missed a few chances but 3 points is 3 points and one step closer to the dream!

phoenix played well for what its worth

They played well. We will take the win but need to improve for heart away.

Good thing for pitch is hopefully no rain and 2 weeks of no games before derby... eels home game at anz next week.

Atmosphere around stadium a bit tense??...terraces less involved it seemed for big parts of game. Nerves??

A really Scrappy Win. Would have been different if Haliti had buried some of those chances. Different game when Dino came on. People slag him off but he  draws defenders in and gives space to other players. The Protest was respected by most of the crowd. Hopefully we wont be termed as Flogs by some in the RBB. Not all of us are 18-20 years old anymore. Does not mean we support the team any less.
