Piovaccari to unleash, miss every chance... Concede a sloppy goal on the 90 minute mark

Rinse and repeat

Nah , last seasons nightmare is still embedded in me... I'm sure well play well and bring home some sort of result , then again no expectation no disappointment right :)

well the reception is in western Sydney so I don't think the guests would mind in the slightest!!!

I hope you're right Nick, the fallout if we lose will be brutal.

No one wants to lose a derby. That being said depending on how the game goes, we'll either be happy or angry (solid win, scrap draw, bullshit loss etc.)

Finishing 8th and having 20K (hopefully) in red and black would be a nice "**** you hashtag FC, we're still here"

is it just me or has there been no media hype compared to the last few seasons for both the Sydney and Melbourne derby's??

Yep, seems like less. MSM is not football friendly so what do you expect.

Surprisingly the back page of both the Terrorcrap and SMH have stories on the derby. In any event, I'd say that because the MSM have no football scandals to talk of, it's been a fairly quiet week.

Look what happened after the Melbourne derby, the MSM concocted a whole load of BS stories about hooligans. Ridiculous!!!

exactly my thoughts quiet start to the year for both sydney clubs in terms of flares and trouble so in there eyes there is nothing to report because bright lights are a headline but 40k+ sell out for a regular season game is not in anyway anything to promote lol

We get to enjoy these very special derbies because ESFC lives in a "mansion" while a five room home would do for them. Once or twice a year we are filling all those empty rooms which are usually covered with sheets to stop them from collecting dust.

Let Arnie talk. Chances are he's sh1tting himself, dreading the sight of 15-20k WSW supporters at the mansion. He's dreading that we'll come to their place, eat all their food, drink all their drinks, burb, fart, leave a big turd in the toilet behind, and noisily walk away with the family jewelry (= 3 points) in the bag.

Let's just reflect on the last four games:

  • Bridgey didn't score the 2:0 (it would have been game over then), Beauchamp gifts Garcia a goal instead.
  • Next game we weren't able to take the 2:0 into the half time break (if we had it would have been game over again), and had Saba sent off instead.
  • At Parra Adeleke was napping against Ibini, and we drew a game where we had them in the bag for most of the time.
  • And finally Hamill played Santa and gifted the Smurfs a bag full of goals.

In other words: ESFC didn't beat us, but we lost against them.

We need to oil our vocal chords and own their mansion. The team needs to be more clinical up front, and switch off the errors at the back. Hopefully we'll see someone reasonably impartial blowing the whistle.

Other than that: can someone create a meme of a penis with an Arnie-head?

So, wonder what this Sydney FC tifo is about... must be amazing if so many skipped the Newcastle game to do it.

Well the last blue & white cards trick didn't work - maybe they're sewing them together for this week?
