Popa talking up a strong lineup

I'd imagine vision city will start with vision boy 3 weeks out need to get match fitness up for him

I expect a quality match essentially this is the last competitive fixture before season so will be good to see our current level in a real game

City will be fighting for survival. So it'll be a very tough match. A loss here would detriment their memberships and season I believe.

They could get pumped 9-1 and they'll be happy as long as Cahill scores with a header ;)

more like 4-1. That score would slow them down

Possible City line-up 4-4-1-1

--------------Sorensen

Muscat---Malik----Jakobsen-----Rose

----------------------Brattan

-----------Brandan----------Kilkenny

---------------------Caceres

-----------------------Cahill

----------------------Fornaroli

bench

Fitzgerald, Kamau, Retre, Bouzanis, Chapman.

of these only Muscat, Caceras, Retre and Bouzanis played in their losing friendly to Newcastle

My starting 11 for tonight, with a little help from my friends.

Redmayne

Neville, Borda, NTS, Hamill

Dimas, Pinatares

Jumpei, Nichols, Lustica

Bulut.

Bench - Tyson, Santa, Cole, Baccus, Aspro / Fox

* Nico expected to sit this one out & play on Saturday.

* Fox is predominately a #9, but can play anywhere across the front 3. Given Cimenti is injured, he would be the next in line to travel as cover for the wide attacking players

Lots of negative comments about their defence which one hopes are right , but lots of experience , some skill and a thug to boot.

Scott still overseas?

If so, when does the young Socceroos tour finishes?

playing a semi final tomorrow against Vietnam tomorrow.

Win or lose they play on the 24th for 1st or 2nd/ 3rd or 4th.

if Ufuk Talay continues with smurf Blackwood they will come 4th.

Obviously no one is excited to see #Bulut return to our starting lineup tonight

already have him in my starting line up.

Sorensen won't know what hit him.

Going to be a good gauge as to where we are. I am kind of feeling we are the best we have been at this stage leading into this game?

I get a feeling we are looking at the starting lineup for the derby too, unless Nico really gets up to speed by then.

I don't know about you guys, but to me that side just appears a tad weaker than our line up last season.

Big onus on Borda to be as good as if not better than Alberto.

Ditto Pina with Andreu.

I have a feeling Jumpei will either be a flop or a great signing, no in between. But then again, Castelen was rocks and diamonds too.

And Hammil at left back is a real worry. I hope Clisby is Neville mk 2.

Nico is looking very sharp at training.

I'm interested to see how he goes on Saturday.

I thought Alberto was a lazy defender, cost us a Derby & got suspended. Did not rate!

If Nico is looking very sharp  why not  put him in ,  what difference is two days going to make to his fitness.Saturday is comparatively a nothing game.

I've got a feeling we will see nts play left back a lot this season

Theirs no way cornthwaite will accept sitting on the bench or in the stands he would have been promised game time to turn down other clubs

Coz, he's been training with the squad for less than 2 weeks.

He brings quality, but Popa wouldn't want to waste a replacement on him after 45 tonight, in a competitive game which could go 120 mins.

The aim would be to have him ready for the Derby

Harsh on Aspro. I think he's been better than NTS and he's played a lot.

Starting XI: Redmayne (GK), Neville, Topor-Stanley ©, Borda, Hamill, Dimas, Piñatares, Nichols, Lustica, Jumpei, Bulut #WSW #MCYvWSW

Borda was always going to be in the starting 11 when fit.

I'm told that its was a 50/50 call before the FFA Cup game in Newcastle & in that game Aspro was average at best.

I'm sure we all wan't him to take the next step & secure a starting spot, but, to my eye, his pre-season form doesn't indicate that will happen.
