Prydzopolis Posted November 5, 2016 Unfortunate that they're not broadcasting this live right after the men's game Does this mean that Foxsports have given up on the Sunday afternoon double headers? I think it works out better to play it the other way around because then it doesn't force the women to play at a ridiculously early hour (Men kick off at 4:30, women would have to play 1:30, so 2 hour game + 1 hour to allow the men to warm up) in Australia's ridiculous heat Wish I travelled over for it - would've been awesome to see both matches!! Ah well. How good would it be if it was included in an RBB TOD, where the men would play at 5:30 then women would start at 8:30 on a trip to Wellington (don't think they have a W-League team) or Adelaide. Would be epic no? SomeGuy1977 1 Link to comment
Valter43 Posted November 5, 2016 They're showing the Adelaide v Victory W-League game at 2:30pm tomorrow. Basically tomorrow is a whole day of Australian football (Aforementioned W-League game + Adelaide v Central Coast + Our game) Prydzopolis 1 Link to comment

Valter43 Posted November 5, 2016 Last season a lot of the w league games started around 2pm. Lots of dedication from all W League players to put up with those kinds of playing conditions considering their usually meagre pay (afaik some of the younger players at CU are not even paid!). When you think that the majority of W-League players work a part or full time job whilst having to play is quite incredible. Reminds me of what many of our football players had to do in the 70's & 80's when there just wasn't enough money to pay the players. I remember on OoW podcast with Manfred where we talked about how Manfred Scahefer was a milk delivery man who used to jog a couple of km's every day delivering milk to pay the bills all while representing his country. Can you imagine the modern day athletes having to do something similar? Valter43 and SomeGuy1977 2 Link to comment

Get paid to stay fit and it kept you out of trouble. Prydzopolis 1 Link to comment
