This is the time not only for revenge since their coach, players, and fans have no problem being obnoxious, but to help us prepare for the ACL final. Hope the guys get up and get momentum for versing Al-Hilal next Saturday!

ESFC all arrogance and talking themselves up

ESFC saying all of our players are shite

GA says they are the Manchester United of Australia

ESFC banging on about their fantastic attendance records

The media all over ESFC and ignore WSW

ESFC the favourites for this game (so they think)

And I don't give a *** about any of it.... actually I believe it sets it up nicely for us. We go there and we smash them against the so called odds and we own the place again  :good:

Just how we like it. :good:

Isn't ironic that the smurfs were talking from the first derby about how it doens't mean anything to them, only to spend the next couple of years gloating over their handful of wins, and now it's us who have a bigger game to play a week later that means more than any single match against the smurfs could.

In all honesty, what lineup will Popa put out there on Saturday night? Having one eye on the ACL final and all.

Would he rather rest NTS? Is Tomi at risk of re-injury? Would he want to save Saba for next week or does he need more game fitness? I assume spira won't be rushed in until the ACL final too? Are La rocca and mateo also too much of a risk to injure? Is civic gonna get a night off too?

Does our starting IX for the ACL final need a solid hitout together this weekend to sharpen up or is Popa already satisfied and will therefore play the B Team?

I don't understand people saying to  "rest" players. The ACL final is an entire week after the derby and its in Sydney. They don't have to travel. Why would you not want to play your players and keep them match fit? Saba needs the minutes. He has to start on Saturday so he can start in the ACL final.

favourites? I checked centrebet yesterday and we're both paying $2.60 with $3.XX for a draw. Its split down the middle.

I think the game might have sold out - I just tried to look for tickets and was greeted by a 'no tickets available message'... hopefully this is true!

Irrespective, I think it would be unwise for us to rest too many players. Popa still needs to get and keep combinations working and it will be difficult to start Spira against Al Hilal without any recent big match time 'under his belt'.

The occasion itself will guarantee that the team will be fully focused on this weekend rather than the 'globally bigger' one to come.

Hope the stadium members turn up, with the general admission allocation sold out the size of the crowd will mostly be determined by them. This fixture deserves closer to 45k than 40!

First time ever I couldn't possibly care about beating Sydney FC lol

Play a B-team Popovic, rest crucial players for the ACL campaign and squeeze the game for a draw.

That sweet sweet Asian trophy is in my sights ...

We could never take that attitude to a derby imo. I want to win the ACL as much as you, but the derby means more than a regular game, and it always will. Plus I really don't like the idea of coming back from the ACL starting our campiagn again on zero points, when others will be on as much as 10.

Going to this game but not as pumped as I have been other times. With our first team not ready yet and a continental final down the corner, I haven't caught the fever as bad.

Wouldn't it **** with the smurfs heads if we put in no one and just filled it with youth players lol

Tomi won't play, Topor won't play. Saba should start as should Castelan, although Popa still probably doesn't think they are fully rock hard fit. Ruka maybe gets some minutes late on.

I expect us to go in with team similar to what we started with last week.

Those feeble minded east Sydneysiders, will look at the team sheet & get sucked in, I'm sure. We will go there & pull their pants down & it will be a great confidence booster for the real stuff the following week.

We need a positive performance and result regardless of the team that starts. Heads dropped last week and confidence was knocked a bit.

I would take a well organised drama free solid defensive 0 - 0 and then move on to the ACL.

Bay 3 and 4 will be right into the middle of the RBB, might be best to slide over a bay for your first game

Because I'm so damn anxious about the ACL lol.

I don't know how to run a footy team, so I'll leave it in Popovic's hands. But if he is concerned about what I think (I don't think he is lol) and if is best to just throw the game for some reason (it probably isn't) then I don't care if he does LOL

Will be there singing my heart out regardless.

Wouldn't worry about sitting too much

Popa may a very shrewd move at half time last week by replacing La Rocca.

Given that he had picked up a slice of cheese & was very close to collecting another & therefore earning an early shower, Popa chose to replace him so he'd be available as a CB option this week, should NTS not be fit to play.

Whilst I don't believe CB is his best position, he'd be a far better option in that role than Golec was last week.

Golec would be pushed back out into the LB role & Trifiro or Yianni (who I believe played some minutes with the youth team) would partner Mateo in the midfield.

Cole can then be pushed forward & would be likely to start in the right midfield role replacing Kubi.
