Wasn't he rumoured to be your inaugural captain? What happened?

Fell down the pecking order as more players were signed/proved their place in the side. Apparently, he and popa had a falling out over his lack of game time (unfortunately).

Would have preferred he stay, but what can you do?

Glad he signed with Adelaide, I can see him doing well there

good luck to tarek were ever he decides to play his football, was a very good defender when required foe WSW though he couldn't really compete for regular first team action.

I just noticed he is born on the first day of the year. 1st Jan.

Completely irrelevant, but slightly interesting none the less.

That was more to do with fan polls rather than info coming out of the club. I think it had a lot to do with him being one of the first three players signed.

I was sad to see Tarek go. It was unfortunate for him that we signed Polenz and he basically had to sit behind him in the pecking order, otherwise he pratically starts every game. He is a good solid pro and a club like Adelaide will get good value out of Tarek. He can start at almost any A-league club. Wishing him the best. He was a good player for us when he got the chance, didnt let us down.

tarek in right back, cassio in left back - lets hope they get some decent wingers in front of them. then it could be some very ineteresting football from the reds

Was good to see Elrich today going up to the boys & saying hi, etc etc. Still finding it a shame that he had to leave to find regular football...

Was he playing as a right midfielder today?

And there was a nice little moment when he went up to Popa afterwards and gave him a big hug. True story.

During the warm up the players that were starting on the bench were doing a passing exercise when Tarek came over to chat to Bridge. Shinji was grabbing his arm trying to drag him over to join in with our warm up. Certainly no hard feelings there.

Many people clapped and cheered him on/off the field too, which was good to see and hear.

was a beast last night.

very proud.

Agree...left back was where AUFC had probs last night, which I think hinted at maybe some conditioning problems for Zullo when he moved back into that pozzie after Mabil came on and Tarek switched returned to his more familiar RB position. Elrich deserves more game time that's for sure.

I can't believe Dino's thread gets hit, but nothing for Tarek after a stellar, though admittedly losing, performance last night. Was AU's best player on the park. Was probably still dirty that Tomi shrugged him off so easily last week, so upped his game.

I thought Tarek had a good game last night as well.

Great to see him doing so well for his new team. Will be cheering him on as long as Adelaide arent playing us

Yes to both the above.  I thought he deserved more than one Alex Tobin point...but at least he did get one.
