  1. The AFL attempting to rewrite the history of the sports origin, to suit their narrative again. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-06-14/afl-latest-stance-proves-history-of-aussie-rules-is-in-debate/11202802
  2. https://www.lowkickmma.com/report-robert-whittaker-vs-israel-adesanya-planned-for-ufc-243/ Nothing confirmed.
  3. First major test for the stadium turf tonight, with a Super Rugby match scheduled. Rugby Union scrums and the holding of concert events where the turf is covered for extended periods of time are the two things that cause the most damage to stadium turf.
  4. Maybe the club should include a pair of polarized sunglasses with the membership kit next year for eastern stand members, instead of just deciding whether to include a cap or bucket hat in the members kit.
  5. There is an article on the Roar website written by a Parramatta Eels member today, complaining about the afternoon sun and seating in the eastern stand. I won't link it here but seek it out, if you are interested and have seating in the eastern stand next season. The evening matches kicking off at 7:30pm shouldn't be a problem, but matches kicking off at 5:30pm may have an issue with the setting sun for members seated in the eastern stand.
  6. They are reporting an official crowd of over 29000 for the opening match between the Parramatta Eels v Wests Tigers.
  7. As I posted earlier I really do hope they adopt a 110m pitch length to place the goals as close as possible to the fans, at the two ends. The fence to fence dimensions of 131m long and 81m across is slightly smaller than the dimensions suggested during the stadium planning process of 140m by 80m. Someone should update the stadium Wikipedia page with the correct dimensions.
  8. The red coloured signage really works against the grey background and seating.
  9. They are using artificial lighting rigs to assist the growing of the turf, either side of the goalposts, in the above picture.
  10. This article is a follow up to the earlier post about linking government funding requests to women's sports teams https://www.smh.com.au/sport/aoc-fears-exodus-of-female-talent-as-cash-goes-to-professional-codes-20190407-p51bp8.html The FFA should use the success of the Matildas and increasing female participation to lobby the government for more funding.
  11. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/wanderers-woes-a-barrier-to-holding-a-league-decider-at-new-stadium-20190408-p51c57.html The current thinking of Aleague management of the Grand Final being held at Bankwest stadium, is unlikely, but there is a possibility it may happen. After the last few years, nothing would surprise anymore.
  12. The first match he starts against us, he will produce a world class goal. Just to rub it in.
  13. https://www.foxsportsasia.com/football/1073075/western-sydney-wanderers-unveil-new-stadium-ahead-of-official-launch/ This video makes me look forward to the first match under lights with a capacity crowd. Can't wait.
  14. I think the reason you are allocated a specific seat and row is related to this Full Capacity Matches policy. https://www.wanderland.com.au/western-sydney-stadium/full-capacity-matches/ i think if it is a match in high demand e.g. Sydney Derby, then you are allocated a specific seat so that you don't miss out and it aids crowd management.
