  1. Guys, where possible catch the train - stop is right outside ground - parking is the very definition of rubbish. Used to work at Wests home games - and still go as a spectator sometimes - getting in and out takes forever if you drive. Looking forward to seeing proper football at this ground. I know we will bring the kind of noise that has never been seen at this stadium!
  2. @GD07 - I don't think so. That's why I thought he might be a chance.
  3. Nathan Burns was at the game yesterday - would he be any chance?
  4. This is again blaming the wrong people. It is not Sydney FC's fault that people who claim to support our team and claim to be a part of the RBB carried on like ****wits. It is the people who lit a flare, got into a fight, threw rocks etc's fault. Not the media's. Not the FFA's.
  5. Cockerill gets it spot on for once! Colour me shocked!!
  6. This is exactly the point I tried to make at the last meeting at the Woolpack and again earlier in this thread. @Pup - it is far too late for the members to be standing up now. Should have stood up and said it to their faces before when we had the chance. That also gives the group deniability when facing the media. I tried to get that happening and I was shouted down. As the club has made clear - you build a culture from the start. Our culture was 'people will throw flares, can't stop 'em. wont bag 'em. won't dob on 'em'. That is the same as saying 'go for it'. "Quae Seminavares Metes" - what you sow, so shall you reap.
  7. @Roverslad - How on earth is this FFA's fault? It's the fault of the dickheads who let off a flare inside the ground. You then say it was a setup? It would seem, if stories are correct, that the person injured was a 'WSW fan'. So you go to the trouble of getting yourself injured as part of a setup? No one is that passionate. I got shouted down at the Woolpack meeting when I said we should explicitly ban flares as part of our culture. I was told 'it will be alright'. Guess what? It isn't. These people are not about supporting a West Sydney team - all they care about is an outlet for carrying on like dickheads. Why would you go to a game where our team isn't playing? There is only reason, and they achieved their aim - they caused some trouble and got noticed.
  8. Is popa a local or Croatian? Can't be both. I distinctly remember him playing for AUSTRALIA at the World Cup. I remember Ante Milicic playing for AUSTRALIA at a World Youth Cup. That means they're pretty ****ing Australian as far as I am concerned. Sick of the attitude that if you have a woggy sounding name you're not really Australian, you're Croatian, Italian, Greek or whatever. We're all Australians. Get that into your thick heads. As far as the Croatian imports - makes sense. They wouldn't be costng much as they come out of the local league compared to someone like Berisha who came out of lower levels in Germany where the pay is better.
  9. Wow. That's awesome. Conveys everything we would want! Strong image, can't be sure if he/she's angry or just pumped. Love it!
  10. We'll need to ask the club to 'borrow' that big jersey with the logo to use at the games!
  11. Guys - the gas mask logo looks great. There is only one problem - the explanation re: anonymity, unity etc. People will not buy that. Why? 1) Because it takes too long to explain, and anything that takes that long to explain will be regarded with suspicion; and 2) the general assumption is that people wear gas masks when they expect to get tear gassed and to hide their face from the cops. The wider community will look at this and think we're just mindless thugs. I am a proud Westie, and am so proud and excited that we finally have a team we can ALL support (as opposed to the various old ethnic clubs). I am also really proud of this little community we have here of people who give enough of a **** to make an effort to support a team that doesn't exist yet. I just think this logo idea is the kind of stuff that kills football in the media. I can guarantee that the Telegraph will jump on it when they get a chance so they can do another football/soccer hooligans story. They probably already have it written and just need to insert dates and times. It's how they roll. I just wish I had some sort of artistic ability to come up with my own idea! Please don't think I am bagging the people that came up with it, as I said - artistically looks great - a really strong image. I just believe the negative connotations are too strong. As always though, if that's how everyone votes, that's what we go with.
  12. Am super pumped for this Can't wait to get out there. A mate of mine just left Nepean - he'll be spewing he won't get to play WSW!
  13. Fits in with what Lyall said of getting players with a point to prove. He would want to come back and kill it to work his way back into Socceroos and eventually a bigger club (notice I didn't say better club - there are none better than Wanderers!).
