in on the count of Mel McLaughlin....but to be absolutely serious, I'd need training to be cancelled to attend, I've already been relegated to starting from the bench due to a lack of training!

Time to get your golf game happening then ... cheap days at Windsor, Mondays ... we'll have you pulling on the No9 jersey in no time. ;)

Haha - sounds good to me! be prepared for 10 shots every hole though! Funnily enough one of the main reasons I have stopped playing golf lately besides a lack of time is due to my knees taking so much pressure during the down swing and I was more worried for them during soccer season

Is it raining outside? If so I could be attending. Mel McLaughlin has an awesome... football mind.

    just got back.

was prob around 100 people there

west again was clearly perferred to be in the name.

colours that got mentioned was red and black as one jersey, and a white as another jersey. when they ran a show of hands, red and black was clearly favourite.

parra staduim was the obvious favourite. even for derbies, not one person said they want ANZ for derbies and the staduim for the derby was specifically talked about for a good 10 mins.

wanderers was the favourite name, though there was one person who claimed its contradicting itself if we play at one staduim and call us wanderers.

there was huge favour of having a built staduim in 3 years time at fairfield.

apparently its pretty much already decided who our shirt makers will be, the same brand who put forward the 'clearly' best offer from the rovers bid, this was according to lyall gorman.

and i got to share a lift with bosnich, who couldnt find his car

The kit suppliers will be Asics from one one insider told me as the brand is out west. and ray richards hit gorman for 6 at the end with his excellent comment. there vision is 51% owned by ffa and 49% by fans with 4 out of the 7 board members being from the ffa which is wrong.

Every one wants red and black as the colour but i don't think from tonight that everyone is any favor of Wanderers it's only a few that spoke on the mike that where for the name wanderers.

Why is Fairfield such a preferred option for the new Stadium? I haven't been able to get to the forums so would like to know the thinking behind this. I always thought a redeveloped Parra was more of a chance than a new stadium. However, Fairfield seems to be continually mentioned. Is this a political decision.

because they believe that fairfield is smack bang in the middle between blacktown and Liverpool

What did old mate Ray have to say cgorac?

Was he dismissive of the FFA's preferred board model, the ownership percentages, or both?.

My main concern with FFA ownership is that they're likely to appoint a CEO to the new WSF Club who has a vested / financial interest in another NSW based A-League Club.

How can he devote his unbridled attention to the new WSF Club and not become tied in knots by conflicts of interests that will inevitably arise?.

Speaking at the Bankstown Fan Forum former Qantas Socceroo and Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has urged the New Sydney Club to promote attacking football and for fans to get right behind them from day one.

“The club will be driven by its fans,†Bosnich said.

“You [the fans] can create a fortress atmosphere at our home ground, I’d rather lose 4-3 having a go then lose 1-0 not giving it a fair go.â€

While Bosnich’s comments related to entertainment, former Queensland Roar captain Chad Gibson agreed about the need for passion and had no doubts that it exists within the area’s football community.

“I am a product of the west and I’ve been fortunate enough to play at Sydney United and Marconi.

The three words I conveyed in my time there were passion, pride and togetherness,†Gibson said.

“This is a landmark event for football in Australia his club is about unity, going beyond the 90 mins and making history.â€

Another Western Sydney product in Luke Casserly also backed a campaign for freshness within the new club, and was supported by Gibson.

“I hope the NSWPL clubs let the players develop and follow the player pathway to the club,†Casserly said.

“The club’s colours and logos need to be iconic,†Gibson added.

While Casserly led the charge for the club to have a fresh feel, both Bosnich and Head of the Hyundai A-League, Lyall Gorman, decided to dream big, Gorman targeting a sizeable crowd in the first year, with the iconic keeper hoping the club would own it’s own venue.

“The club will be targeting an average crowd of 10,000 for next season,†Gorman said.

Bosnich added his thoughts on the progression of the club.

“It would be great for the club to own our home ground one day, and a clubhouse is an important thing moving forward.â€
