On Friday, before the game Hayden Foxe was putting him through a pretty intense session with 3 other players i didn't recognise, youth players i assume.

No strapping or anything (unlike Marty Lo who was doing some less intense work off to the side).  He seemed to be moving well and was obviously a class above those he was working with. They played some 2v2, max of 2 touches and after each goal had to run into a box on the side of the field before restarting. The two guys playing against gol gol and his partner didn't touch the ball for like 3 minutes with Gol Gol netting about 5-6 times in that period. Hayden then proceeded to berate gol gol when he started to go easy on them. "NO MERCY GOL!! PUNISH THEM!!"

I hope he gets a run soon. We are running out of options, so i'm sure we'll see him before seasons end.

Hopefully that means he's a good player?

Would create an interesting situation where we had 4 strikers (Juric, Bulut, Santa, Gol) all competing for one spot. Makes it seem unlikely that Juric would stay

Gol gol Def not a striker. With all due respect to Santa, juric > Santa.

Tomi would dislike seeing kerem turn into cult hero rather than him I'd imagine. Any decent striker would

Had a chat with him on Friday, he said he is almost certain we won't see him this season because Popa does not want to risk him.

Makes sense. Why risk him in games that mean nothing. May as well save him, and get him completely 110% for the FFA Cup games and next year's HAL season.

I concur

Was just talking about Golgol with my bro and can't wait to see him back on the field for us. Sucks that he played all of 5 minutes before being cut down for 2 seasons.

After seeing some footage from 2012/13 and 2013/14 season, I hope he can get back to his best.

Nek Minnit, Popa springs a surprise when naming squad to play CCM on Saturday

Gol is good to go for tomorrow (his instagram acct.)

Any chance of a screen grab? There was information floating around here that he wasn't going to be risked for the rest of the season.

Thanks teddies :good:

I thought Popa didn't say who was playing till an hour or so before the game. Obviously going off those words he has told him he'll get game time tomorrow!

Would be great to see what the fittest member of our squad looks like on the ground!

Which player was his injury replacement? Was he in the (but on the injured list) A-League squad after January?

Golgol signed on originally with one of those mixed contracts: ACL-only for the second half of 2013-14, and for 2 years in the regular squad starting 2014-15. He then was brought in to the full squad as an injury replacement (for Tahj maybe?) but we all know how well that went. We've been waiting a long time to see Golgol again :woah:

Yeah pretty sure it was tahj he replaced .. but who replaced golgol initially?

One of the ACL players, was it mullen?

He looked sharp tonight. Hope he gets a good run next season.

Yeah...thought he was pretty good considering lack of match practice/fitness. Looked more threatening on that left flank for the few minutes he was on than Ruka did last night, or indeed for most matches this season.

Can't forget that goal he scored against us in the wet for Heart near the end of season one...be nice to have more than one or two options for goal scorers again.
