Have always thought he wasnt up to scratch but boy Jason has silenced his critics recently

the way he has been playing recently, wouldnt object to keeping him in the squad.

think he will stay, with few lads leaving, we gonna need someone to fill there and he's been with the club for 2 seasons so he knows whats expected. hell id even go as far to say he might be a starter next season.

keep it up son!!!!

Getting ahead of ourselves aren't we? Has been adequate recently but flaws are readily apparent. Too slow, distribution is quite poor, seemingly can't shoot, bundled too easily off the ball, etc etc.

Good on him for giving his all though; can't fault him for that.

I would have agreed with all of that until about a month ago. His strength on the ball last match was Bridge-esque, very impressive. The rest is, unfortunately, very accurate - especially the shooting bit. I don't think he could identify football goals in a lineup (even with our goal nets). I'd still sign him on minimum wage as a fourth-choice midfielder.

I think he is a very handy player in the midfield. The ACL combination of him and La Rocca was excellent. I don't know where people are getting that he is a poor distributor? Never really ever seen him shoot. Too slow? I don't know. I will say that he is one of the better players in the team at being able to get himself out of a tight situation and find another man in a better position. Hence why he does so well and stands out in the ACL where Asian team really press us mach harder.

Saying that I think he is a second tier midfielder at our club (and a handy one too).

I'd sign him for ACL definitely and only use him as a replacement for a-league matches he tends to get out muscled in aleague and has played well against Asian opponents who are more technical players and don't try to bully/out muscle opponents compared to our league. Not sure how he will hold up against Arab teams if we progress in acl but he should be definitely used in ffa cup.

Given we are playing ACL next year again, I'll would resign again for another season.

Use him mainly for ACL and FFA cup, has that experience now and give the 1st teasers a rest.

I could quote many on here because I think some very good points have been made:

- Very good player to play as mid fielder behind la rocca, Poljak, mooy replacement and Ono replacement

- Hasn't been great in the aleague but has more than made up for it in the acl,

- Can we sign him up as just acl player? Or just sign him on minimum wage but great squaddie!

- Was very good in patches but also not up to scratch in other moments but couldn't we play youngsters in this role/position

- Also feel that playing all the acl games meant that he got a run of games getting his match fitness up and getting into good form but still feel he still ranks above in the first line

- Comments about his short fall, don't forget he fits the bill as more of a defensive player so probably distribution and shooting aren't his forte's which is understandable but think he was quite decent in Asia with his passing/distribution/holding the ball/breaking up the play was up to standard more than 75% of times

- We have been quick to get on his back, but don't think we should get rid of him so easily being a player that works really hard and has really stepped up showing he can contribute in a big way to this squad/team!

Good game last night off the bench. I'm still a believer! As someone put it  "He was buzzing tonight".

yep, quality squaddie. certainly deserves more of an applause on the ball than other former bearded players. (not naming any names)

Copy that mate. Bit harsh. Although Popa may have been genuinely absoved in a potential victory at the time.

May be right West.

Not a great deal if game time of late. I still think his touch and pass game is way ahead of the rest.

I thought he was most influential in our improved second half...yeah he made a couple of mistakes but he wasn't Robinson Crusoe there......our transition improved remarkably in the second half.

Poor guy got subbed on at half time and off before full time. That's gotta suck!

Didn't get a high five or anything from Popa either. Got completely blanked.

Surely taking him off was a ploy to waste any remaining stoppage time.

Yep he sure didn't look happy coming off, but hey I'm extremely disappointed in popa for not even a handshake or fistpump. Dosen't matter what is happening on the field, you acknowledge any player you have just taken off the field. Disrespectful. I'm losing mine for him quickly. Hope there is a reasonable explanation for this! I'll certainly go direct to the source for one.
