Was named as available in the squad listing released today, presumably having recovered from his injury.

I thought he was on u20 Socceroo duties? Or did he pick up and injury during the qualifiers?

I'm pretty sure he was injured earlier in the season. Might have missed the U20 stuff.

imo we have not seen enough of him this season he looks promising

agreed, i would like to see a bit more of him, he looked pretty good when he made his debut against Perth.

I remember that, he ripped two Perth players and then had a shot. I remember thinking that this this kid is going to be good

Reece was named in the Young Socceroos squad for the World Cup today.  Congratulations to the lad.

If the 5 man bench is brought in he could see some action, with Elrich gone, Caira should get some time via squad rotation as the sub fullback, or even as a starter in a handful of games or if Cole or D'Apuzzo's form drops.

I read in the 442 forums that Reece Caira was trialling with Wellington? Anybody heard of this?

Yep was mentioned elsewhere on here too.

Update on his status: Reece Caira is still a contracted player at the club, however he has been allowed to seek opportunity at another club and if a suitable club is found the club, player and management will discuss that if it comes in.

its a pity he hasnt got a great run with us so far, looked impressive what we have seen of him and would rather him stay here but i understand why he wants to find another club

I applauded. Felt like the only one tho.

TBH I was just happy no-one booed.

I didn't notice it. The average punter wouldn't have known who he was.

I was polite until he hacked at Hersi and then started time wasting on throw ins, then starting yelling at him "No wander popa let you go! You time wasting hack" much to the bemusement of the new members in our bay.

dont get the point in booing, not like he left for better wages or because he had issues with the club. kid just wasnt playing/good enough.

I agree.

It's a great thing that he's still playing in the A-League, and that NIX are able to give him that chance.

See, if he'd gone to our cross-city rivals, of ESFC, THEN it would be a completely different story!

agreed, if they leave for the right reasons then i dont mind it

i totally forgot that he was at the Nux till after the match and always thought he deserved more game time at the wanderers, almost scored with his first touch and did well that match apart from the time wasting

Released a year early by Wellington.

If he goes to a club who play him as a Midfielder not a fullback he might find another club.

Looks like he's retired from pro-football. He is currently playing for Valentine FC in the Northern NSW Premier League (based in Newcastle) and works for a local Real Estate agent.
