but this bullshit of folk saying 'ah doesn't matter' after the fact is mealy-mouthed crap.

It doesn't matter because he wouldn't get any game time next season. The task/goal for Popovic and team is to win the title. For that to happen Popa will, more often than not, put his best eleven on the pitch week in, week out.

In S1 we had a squad of 23, and 14 played the bulk of the games. The others did bugger all, including vice captain Elrich. Had it not been for injuries at the end of the season, and a few red cards, that group of nine players would have played even less. If we have a squad of 26 in S4, then app. 10 players won't see much game time at all. K. would have been in that group - if he had made it into the senior squad in he first place.

We don't know if K. is going to be any get better. I thought that Alessi, after his strong games against ADP and Guangzhou's Elkeson, would be the man to watch. I was stunned to see how much he was struggling a few weeks ago against Newcastle.

At the end of the day players come and go, and there is nothing we can do about it. If he thinks he found a way to better himself: good luck to him. I will be much more carefully watching what is going to happen with the likes of Spira, Ruka, Tanaka, Takahagi, Sotirio, or Covic.

IMHO, not a big loss, but a loss...

Sotirio, Aspro, Youlley, from what I've seen why my own eyes, look like the ones with more potential.

Sotirio looks like a slick dribbler who likes to take on the opposition and just looks more assured on the ball than Kuzi.

Aspro, well we all know, he's a beast  :woah:

For the single game Youlley played, he looked comfortable on the ball and when passing.

Kuzi has good skills, but thats it for me.... didn't offer that much compared to the three I've mentioned.

Good luck to him. I'll be sad that we lose someone from our Macedonian contingent

I'd rather we keep him but it's going to become a reality with WSW on the future. Look how many Socceroos, Aussies playing overseas and A-League players come from western Sydney. There's no way we're going to be able to funnel all that talent into one squad. We're inevitably going to lose a lot and occasionally we'll lose one that we really regret. The best we can hope for is to have a good enough academy and youth system to identify the talent young and get first choice on the pick of the crop.

Kuzi scored our only goal is 6-1 loss to Panama. :good:

Not surprisingly,  FFA have chosen not to provide social media updates & or a match report on their website.

They haven't had the time. They're been busy looking for Okon's replacement

FFA have still been doing Mothers Day tweets & the 5 things we learnt about ESFC's victory last night stories.  :sorry:

One of my NZ twitter followers, RT'd a few updates from a NZ correspondent, so that's how I followed the game earlier today

And people bag our Twitter feed lol.

I know this belongs in the Socceroos thread but if we can't get results against Panama then it sounds like same old shite, different locale. Very happy for Kuzi but what the fook is happening where we lose to a Central American team to that extent.

Doesn't make sense that the club is congratulating him like he is still part of WSW & he has put pen to paper for City ??

wait, what?

Must be an old photo the Club decided to post today.

These lads have been in camp with the Young Socceroos.

Taurus are there any chances you might spill the beans and let us know how close/far he is from leaving us?

At the end of his contract I'm thinking, which is about May 30ish?

Maybe Popa is annoyed that Kuzi's agent and Melb City have sold him the Manchester City connection...

The belief that Man City scouts are at every training session and games watching everything that they do

Honestly though Kuzi was in for a great future at WSW.

Who's releasing these players?

How can Popa be seething if he's the one who let him go??

I'm pretty sure he was only in the youth system - in other words not tied down to our club. Hence why he wasn't on the list of "released" players.

Also need to consider the players who stayed ahead of him: Sotirio, Youlley, D'Cunha, Aspro, Fofanah & Alessi

I'm still struggling to understand the mass disappointment over his departure.

I think it was the fact that he was a young promising Western Sydney boy that we couldn't keep & one that has a bright future ahead of himself if he keeps on developing like he did in the last 6 months he spent with us.

I know we can't keep them all but it still hurts when we let the promising ones go.
