Filly
Saw him play in the youth team on the weekend and yet again he put in a very good performance. He's got an excellent cross, but I just can't see Popa giving him any game time. He doesn't seem too happy here either, something is definately going on behind the scenes, I'd very much doubt if he'd be here next season, especially considering Polenz and Cole have re signed. It's a real shame for mine, he was marketed as one of the faces of the team but is just stuck in the youth team. Link to comment
yttam95
i feel really sorry for tarek. he gives so much off the field and due to our defensive solidity, he isn't given the heads up for a run, even as a substitute. Link to comment
JamCal
Played pretty well against Central coast when he came on too... Saved a goal scoring opportunity for sure. Link to comment

Shogun
Time for tarek to shine with polenz's injury? Cole will probably get the starting spot. popa prefers him over Tarek. Link to comment
stewballs
Hope not. Cole got exposed last week as a RB! Tarek much better IMO Link to comment

ManfredSchaefer
Dear Tarek I am writing this letter to apologise for the manner in which I have let my love for Jerome Polenz blinker my view of your commitment to the team, your capabilities as a footballer, and your overall work in the Wanderers this year. I understand that it must have been especially hard to resolve the personal issues facing a professional footballer who was rejected by the Jets and (luckily) failed to elicit a contract from the Bling to come to an entirely new club, not knowing much about how the season would pan out. You were made one of the early icons of the Wanderers in their publicity and looked assured of an integral part of the club's run on team. Then along comes a German with a wealth of experience in the Bundesliga in a midfielder's role, who is shifted into your pozzie by Popa (in whom we trust). Before you could say WTF you had become relegated to almost a bit-players role. For many a man this would have been the reason to lose motivation, or consider the cruelty of the football gods. You had a few runs here and there during the regular season however most of the time you would've been lucky to get a whiff of the subs bench. You could have demonstrated the mental fragility of many of the Wanderer's opponents, losing hunger, passion, pride. However in the last two games of the regular season when JP was out you have been called in to fill his shoes...and then some. Your cross last night that helped set up Kresinger's dummied shot (oh, and Bridge's goal) was sublime, and you had so much run in you during the game you shamed your opponents. It was yet another example why no man in the Wanderers team is superfluous or unwilling to put in when needed. So, in closing I would be very happy to see you re-signed for 2013/14. I still want and expect Polenz to sit in that RB position however it is of great comfort to know that if my current Wanderer Super-Profi is in need of a back up you are there. Love your work digger! marron
Yeah that was a ripper. Really glad Tarek, who was the first face of the wanderers, has made good at some point in the season, especially just as we need it... his postmatch interview was good too. Link to comment
JamCal
THAT tackle last night.... Epic Oh my god yes. I'd forgotten about that. He gave the lad a 10 metre head start and caught him, long after I'd written him off and started bracing for a goal. Epic tackle. Link to comment

montywoodpeg
Tarek pulled off some cracking recovery runs and tackles against whoever that young winger was (it's late and I'm tired, no disrespect to the lad). Link to comment
ManfredSchaefer
Tarek pulled off some cracking recovery runs and tackles against whoever that young winger was (it's late and I'm tired, no disrespect to the lad). He manned up again this game in the second half, and if Popa doesn't re-sign him then it'll be most undeserved. He's like that extra layer of armour on an Abrahms tank...not entirely necessary but just reassuring to know its there in case... Link to comment
Kizza
He's the player who has suffered most from Ono's signing. I've no doubt the intention was to have him or cole at rb with polenz at cdm beside poljak and mooy at cam. Link to comment
TehSmileyBandit
No disrespect, because as you can see in my above post I think he's played well recently, but he is a class below the majority of fullbacks in the A-League and two classes below Polenz. Just finished watching the CCM v MV semi and the young MV right back is outstanding. So is Risdon, Hingert, et al. Link to comment

yttam95
Shame Tarek got released :'( With polenz on the side he just can't get game time. He's a good player that would start at any other club, I think he would have wanted to try for more first team opportunities through leaving anyway Link to comment
ManfredSchaefer
Sorry to see Tarek let go, and whilst I still believe he gave everything he could as a player Elrich's real worth to the club was in those first few weeks of the WSW squad's existence, when he and Aaron and Kwabena were the early faces of our club. Obviously the recruitment of Polenz cruelled his chances of consistent football and it was only in the last few games he appeared in that he delivered anything like JP's standard of play. But sometimes it's not about what you do on the pitch in game time...it's just as important how you work in the team and represent the club, and no one can fault Tarek on those grounds. I wonder where he goes now...somehow I think the NSWPL might be calling him, unless a club with a need and a vacancy for a reasonable RB has the space for him (Melbourne Heart?). SikWitIt
Thought with his late season performance he would definitely get another year. Maybe a mutual thing where he has a contract set up elsewhere that will give him playing time. Link to comment
yttam95
Another a-league team would be silly not to go for him Link to comment
SBW
Needs a good stint in the NSWPL to get his fitness back up. I am gutted that he has been released from the club as being one of the foundation player and being here from day 1. Late season form didn't look like it was enough for him to stay. Link to comment
FoggyHighway
Nooooooo... I'll be inconsolable for the next few days Will always be one of my favourite wanderers despite his lack of time on the pitchAll the best to Tarek, hopefully he can find the game time he needs as a professional footballer that he couldn't have found by staying with us. (If an a-league club doesn't pick him up, maybe he can have a stint in a nswpl side and be picked up by wsw again later... i can hold on to hope ) Link to comment

SBW
Tarek I thought deserved more at his time with us. He's a good player and he is only 25. A-League teams will pick him up, I reckon that he will either play for the Mariners or may just head south to Melbourne Link to comment
