There should be a "I'm boycotting the game completely" option in the poll because really, that's what everyone in the RBB should be doing! FFA don't deserve our money. Will gladly not go even if I've already paid for the ticket. Best response to how the FFA are treating us is by not turning up, then maybe they'll realise that they truly are nothing without us.

Individual people boycotting will only harm the cause. If it is not a united, RBB directed thing, it is just like you decided to sit on your arse for the day. It will only play into the hands of the Rebecca Wilson's of the world.

Boycotts only work if they are united, co-ordinated and well communicated. Otherwise, they are literally a waste of time.

A boycott is a boycott. If you don't go and don't give money, then the boycott "works" Don't know how you're saying a boycott can't "work". The aim of a boycott is to stop being used as customers.

I'm happy for us to do this walk out for all home games as we've already got our season passes. But away games should be boycotted.

There are a few issues with boycotts:

- MSM win if we boycott, need to prove that people will still turn up despite being told it is not safe etc

- The problem with boycotting away games is that the home team suffers is lack of ticket sales & the local community misses out on our $$$. It's not there fault the FFA are a bunch of inept administrators

Watching the footage of Victory's walkout last night.

Andy Harper making his moral high ground speech from his highly paid position. So far above the stands he's almost touching the sky.

Sorry Harper not all of us have a lucrative gig watching footy for a living. If we all got paid $500,000 a year to watch the A-League I'd be more inclined to take orders and seldom would I worry about police treatment.

By the way Harper your commentary has, and always be, shït. Jog on.

Robbie Slater you mean?

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm going tomorrow. A long way to take kids only to see half the game is the gist in my home and family. I'm tortured by it. You see, if we came, we would definitely be walking out, not a doubt in my mind. I am with you all in spirit!

You are starting to sound like Manfred :-)

Go for a drive instead, have refreshments at the pup, do a bit of socialising, do a bit of singing, then go for a walk across that blasted hill, watch a little bit of football, write history, and walk back over that hill. And in 20 years or so you can tell your grandchildren about "THAT" day.

Simples.

I agree with the final sentence that I have left in your post. However, I disagree with what is in bold.

Simplifying things to pure money I feel totally undersells what we are trying to achieve. Last night I feel MVFC achieved a lot for the game. It probably didn't cost the FFA a cent. What it did do is make national media news. It sucked the atmosphere out of that game. It publicised the issue for the other 20K in attendance, plus thousands more on social media, and importantly;y, it got football journalists with serious influence talking. I genuinely feel more confident of a positive outcome now than I did before that game.

An individual boycotting however will achieve none o what I just outlined above. None. Nor will it cost the FFA any noticeable money, as game days are mostly for the clubs to make money. The FFA primarily makes their money out of licensing fees paid by the cubs, and TV deals. Game day ticket sales has only very little influence on those things.

If individuals boycott, all it does is bring down attendances a bit. It sends no message. The FFA would look at said drops in attendance, and blame a thousand and one factors before considering blaming themselves. Guaranteed. They would in fact, be more likely to believe the media tripe that people are staying away because it is unsafe. Guaranteed. However, with what occurred last night, there was no doubt at all as to the reason fans left. None. No grey area at all for the FFA to cling on to

What I want to know is the police presence in Gosford for 8000 of us walking out.....antagonising will be on the agenda there going to be foaming at the mouth to make some revenue so train is in# wsw Merch counselled# and so over this nsw ******* nanny state ****

Our rights in all aspects have been taken away from us when u look at the greater picture my generation can't even buy a house smoke on a night out drive a v8 on there p plates let alone get there p plates because they cost to much so much for the Aussie dream

More like the Aussie disillusion

We need an Aussie constitution suits enough said

Iirc you can drive cetain V8s on your Ps?

My gen couldnt drive anything v8 or turbo, now you can

I think it gets complicated and depends on the power to weight ratio of the car

If an appeals process does happen

Can we call getting a ban rescinded a "Wilson"?

Please?

As in

-I got an FFA ban! I wasn't even at the game!

-don't worry man you'll get off on a Wilson.

Please NO. These words can't be unheard....  :ninja:

I'm not saying individuals boycott. The families that go to games for a fun day out and to support the team, fair enough. I'm talking about active groups. I think a complete boycott is better than a walkout. A complete boycott by the active support groups will achieve what you mentioned. Will still suck the atmosphere out of the game of course.

Look, either way. I'm happy with what the RBB did today. It works. Fair enough. Someone like me(who is an active member) would prefer to just not go to these away games, and you will find that many have done the same and will do the same. As long as some sort of protest is made that takes the atmosphere out of the game in order to prove our point, then I am happy.

Unlike The Cove who basically did nothing.

Nothing has changed. A process based on "guilty until you prove your innocence" is flawed. He is merely trying to score points in the public debate. Kosmina, Bozza and Zelic all failed to point this out to him. De Bohun out.

De bohun says

There will be a formal process

There will be an investigation into the leak

“We are formalising a process that if a banned spectator can prove to us, through new evidence, that there has been a mistake made, they can bring that evidence to the club, that club can work with us and the fan through that issue,†De Bohun said.

How about you show the evidence that led to the ban in the first place?

Even when people are accused of murder their lawyers are entitled to see the state's evidence before the trial begins!!

Link to comment

I'm not Intirely sure how this formal process is going to work ..

If someone thinks there innocent how are they supposed to prove it ?

Are they going to be given access to cctv footage ?

Will they be allowed to bring witnesses ?

Shouldn't it be on the FFA to prove the guilt first so the defendant knows exactly what they have to defend themselves against ?

Link to comment

This bullshit appeals process (that apparently has been around since day dot) is not what we want, all this talk from De Baboon is to make sure that he doesn't have to do any work or change anything.

An open & transparent process that adheres to the concepts natural justice & procedural fairness. Don't bother trying to sell us anything else.

De Bohun must think we are all really dumb and can't see what he's trying to do. That's what I get out of this.

It's a case of a flawed system installed from the beginning now coming back to bite him on the arse. I wonder how he's been sleeping the last few nights? Probably not very well.
