Any idea who's the referee? Please be Strebre :)

Best ref in Australia hands down.

And a top bloke to. I used to referee HAL/NYL and he is a great bloke, surprisingly funny and laid back on game days but once on the pitch he switches on. He has respect for the players and the game itself too. KGJ is also a top bloke too, I can understand others critising his game on Sat night but personally I thought he wasn't 'that' bad... my father was his mentor back in the day and I can see some similarities in style... oh dear :(

If you guys want Strebre to ref thi game then you also dont want to win the PP, he along with Beath are THE WORST REFS in A-League!

Tells me how much you know whats going.

Strebre multiple times players referee of the year. This alone should tell you wwhich ref has the most respect from players out there.

But u gotta agree that Beath is ****.

Pretty sure it was him in Wellington one day that pulled the red card out instead of a yellow... was hilarious!

Anyways... any tips for the score?

I managed to tip Cahill and Holman scoring last night (I really should start betting)... so my tip is a Topor header from a corner to seal it 1-0 :)

Tips? Cahill to sign on a guest stint and help us win this and the Finals? lol

Then SFC to claim that we copied them after they got Neill...

Cahill playing for the Wanderers?

We would be putting away 5 or 6 goals a match! Hopefully he does come to the A-League and signs for the Wanderers.

Back to the original question - who is the ref?  Answer Ben Williams.

Strebre doesn't have any games on the weekend.

Green, Gillett, KGJ and Kersey have the other games in that order.

Hersi to score or set up a goal and win 1-0, that's my prediction

Does anyone know how many fans are going up to Newcastle?

Mr Williams... fair enough.

Strebre may be off on International Duty then and having a weekend break.

Would be interesting to see our W/L stats depending on the referee...

Is it wrong that I'm so much more pumped for the Wanderers match than the Shockeroo's last night?

Not wrong at all... socceroos have 3 more chances and pop up every 4 years. Wanderers are embedded daily!

Re refs as long as we dont get kgj or beath or that guy with a girl name that did victory game (lucienne?) Or mr mariner (milner)...

I don't remember too well but I think when I watched the replay, I thought he made some fair calls.

Anyway, we have Ben Williams.

If we win or draw will they give us the plate there at newcastle or at the semi, i hope its the former!

Good question. The advantage is that you make the most of the moment and when would you do it at the home final? Before the match? No. After? What if we lose?

Maybe just parade it down Church St. :D

A nil all draw! The greatest score ever in football when all you need is a point!

We started with it and I would happily end with it.

And if we get result I want too see Popa lead the chant at the end, jump the fence, mosh and cop the biggest beer shower ever whilst shoulder 2 shoulder with Turner - I'll post the footage in the no beer showers thread haha

Streb reffed NZ last weekend, some international fixture.

At one point when watching Australia v Oman seeing Oman move the ball around our box I thought I was watching Brazil(Oman) v  San Marino(Australia). ;-)

Surely it's given in Newcastle?

BTW FFA have said the Plate will not be at Hunter Stadium despite the outcome of the result... they will wait until the home semii to present it if/when we win it.

Link to comment

i don't like that.

we have a semi final to win on April 12 and should be focused on that, not celebrate something we won on March 29th.

FFA fail on this one
