I have some involved with Nepean, and they have been promoting this game at club and association level.

Plus they have some of the younger boys (U12's, 14's), acting as ball boys, and partners for the walk on so that adds parents, family members etc... who will stay around to watch the game.

Should be a good crowd for a first ever game!!

There is going to be a HUGE crowd at this. My cousin plays for Nepean (u17s or something) and he said the club is pushing this game massively for weeks. He reckons all of Penrith is going to show up.

Its funny because my uncle tells me today if I know about the game haha. He said something ridiculous of 5-10k showing up!!

So be prepared everyone for a bumper crowd and no parking. We (the active support) might have a decent sized audience on Wed night. The Blacktown game will probably be an even bigger crowd.

Potentially good signs for the club leading into the season.

This is excellent news. Can you feel the earth shaking... this might just even be better than what we first hoped for...

I think East Sydney regularly get 5k+ crowds to preseason matches so lets not get too ahead of ourselves.

It does bode well though

No. Sydney FC usually get 2-3k to their friendlies. The most they have gotten to a friendly against a state league club was against Sydney Olympic 3 years ago which had 5-6k...

Don't forget...these are against NSWPL sides.

This game is not against a NSWPL side, so the numbers are very encouraging considering.

The game against Blacktown will be a good indication in comparison to SFC.

what I was highlighting is how bad Sydney FC do crowd wise in their preseason, of we manage a few thousand against Nepean, that would be a massive effort

Definitely!

Anyone seen the SFC preseason fixture list? Most games are around the East, North and South. There weren't any out west.

That doesn't surprise me and I don't mean any malice in that statement but their target market is now more defined upon the arrival of the Wanderers, so it was only natural that they would focus on pre-season games in the North, East and South of Sydney anyway.

They've got big problems that's just the smallest one

Ive never felt Sydney FC represented us correctly anyways so im glad they arent playing any games out this way ... but at the same time sad because we could have supported which ever team they were playing

Yeah fair enough. Unfortunately it's the most logical night to play state league clubs

. Meeting area: There is a section to the right past the poker machines with a bar and an outdoor section as well as pool tables.

Do you know the lay out of every club and pub in Western Sydney, Benched???

Well, Benched, when we play Blacktown City FC, Lily's is in the ground. So you will only have about 200 metres to get to the game! They took over the Demon's Club when it went broke and re-named the stadium Lily Homes Stadium. Big parking area too.

I doubt there'll be an official home end. I also was wondering whether there is a 'family area' too. I doubt it.

So we just rock up and take over the southern end then. No worries.

Jowel are you serious with these questions? It's a local park football field, I doubt they'll have any family, active support sections. You can stand wherever you want, get there early and take your position. Also if you can have drums at the sfs I'm sure you can take them to cook park st marys

Lol guys, state league doesn't have allocated season.

No team comes even remotely close to filling out their grounds

Just putting the pre game meet up information together.

Place: St Mary's RSL

Mack, any chance you can add this to the first post?
