Could be a tricky game this one - on the face of it we should really thump them, but here's the glory, with a new coach coming off a decent win against the mariners so they'd be fairly confident, and with the predicted forecast of rain could be a smaller crowd than we've been used to these past couple of weeks.

I remember the last time Glory were at Parra Stadium playing the smurfs..was cheering for them that day..they've also won an NSL grand final at Parra Stadium so they are no strangers to the ground...should be a very interesting game, I'm sure Popa will know how to handle them..

It's a long time and pretty much different team for Perth since those days, and they are yet to face the full force of the RBB

what if we haven't peaked at all yet?

This!

the team have been leaking goals a bit lately so i'm sure popa has got them working on stopping that rather than focusing on the fact we are 1 point from the top of the table. I always thought this game could be a banana skin for us. I'm glad mariners slipped on it first. means we are less likely to IMO.

Yet another reason to laugh and laugh at the Daily Telegraph. You'd think Tom Smithies, an apparent football journalist could at least do some simple fact checking haha

What for? Poljak has 4 cards. Jets R6, Heart R5, SFC R3, AU R2.

Yeah that's not the problem, he has 4 red cards. But the 5 yellows = suspension ended last round and went up to 8 yellows. So if he got booked this weekend he wouldn't be suspended for the Mariners game.

Initially thought so too but here are the a-league rules:

5.3 Further to clause 5.2, unless otherwise specified in the A-League competition rules, aPlayer who accumulates the following number of Yellow Cards during the course ofthe Regular Season, must serve the following mandatory match suspensions:(a) from Round 1 to Round 21 of the Regular Season, five (5) Yellow Cardsequates to a one (1) match suspension;(b) irrespective of whether a Player has received a one (1) match suspensionunder clause 5.3(a), eight (8) Yellow Cards during the Regular Season equatesto a one (1) match suspension. For every three Yellow Cards thereafter, anadditional one (1) match suspension.

yeah the threshold changes to 8 starting this round 22

mooy and hersi currently have 6 yellows, beachamp and d'appuzzo have 5 yellows

i'm mostly worried about hersi picking up an 8th yellow in round 27 and missing a final...mooy should be able to control himself

fail to tom smithies...

How on earth did the ffa come up with those rules?

It should be consistent all year, a player shouldnt have to effectively curb thier playing style through out a season due to the rules on which they stand on shifting throughout the season.

I will unfortunately be missing this game. For the first time this season, CCM and WSW are playing at home on the same day. Allegiance aside, 1st vs 3rd and watching the game with my family wins out.

It makes sense because getting 5 yellow cards in 27 games is a lot less serious then getting 5 yellow cards in 5 games. I doubt there'd be many defenders in the league who could get through the season without getting suspended (other than NTS).

Everyone, all you need to be worrying about at the moment, is making sure Alistair Edwards goes home a deaf man!, he set us a challenge

ARE YOU GUYS UP TO THE CHALLENGE OR WHAT?
