God damn it, I can't wait for Saturday and its only Tuesday! Feels like forever since we've played at Parramatta. I can taste the shitty Hungry Jacks. I'm already looking up train timetables. I can feel the longass line for drinks that sell out at half time rising in my heart. Hurry the **** up week.

Can't tell if singing in the rain would sound awesome done by the RBB, or would be a bit... y'know... its from a musical.... But I think it would be hysterical if we had the umbrellas mentioned elsewhere on the forum + started using singin in the rain.

Win, lose or draw.....only thing the RBB should be focused on is shutting Alistair Edwards up and make sure he doesnt make comments that will embarras him again, i am pretty sure he did not watch the MV v Wanderers last weekend, hence his stupid comment...

Which comment?
He challenged the RBB...... we will accept! We gotta sing SO LOUD this week - make sure no-one ever doubts us agian!

I hope it rains. If it does we should crank the 'Thunderstruck/Wanderers' call and response chant idea lol!

Sorry what did he say exactly?

Only comment I've read was from Nick Ward

Link to comment

Apparently he said that the Glory active support was better than ours.

Oh, i saw that.

He was just pumping the tyres of his new home crowd, read nothing into it.

Ward on the other hand... :ninja:

definitely a danger game for us to slip up but I'm sure popa will keep the boys focused...we are going great only thing i worry..have we peaked too early??

Link to comment

Popa will have a game plan and if the team execute it, they'll win the game.

Things to take into account:

- We've never lost to Perth, yet we've only played them at their home

- Parramatta is quickly becoming a fortress

- Jamieson needs to cop **** every time he goes near the ball

- Smeltz scored last week, will be confident, and is very ****en dangerous.

- We've conceded goals in our last 5 out of 7 games (going back to our last loss against CCM). Popa will be extremely keen to keep a clean sheet, hopefully anything that the boys have been struggling with has been ironed out.

There's no such thing as peaking early or to late in football ffs.

i reckon it would work well and also bring a bit of comedy

without passing judgement somehow i feel some people might not be comfortable enough in their own manhood to sing a musical melody lol

yeh there is how isn't there..easily possible

Nope, it's just a stupid Australian commentary term.

Did roar peak early when they went undefeated?

Link to comment

yes i know with the roar and juve have been undefeated and in their case they did not peak too early and were consistent/best...but are you actually saying its not possible for a team to peak early? as much as i don't want it to happen you cannot say it is not possible for a team to peak too early and then lose form..look at the central coast every year ffs

Link to comment

I think the concept of peaking too soon is more associated with high contact sports like rugby league, where the physical demands of playing at the top of your game leads to greater physical wear n tear. Football doesnt have this problem and so is more open to consistency leading to win after win after win.

At least thats my 2 cents

Thats not peaking too early, that's a regular pattern ;)

btw, not having a dig at you, having a dig at CCM's expense :)

not necessarily..it can also be just a drop in form, drop in confidence, over confidence, teams getting figured out, unhappiness in squad, there are many possibilities that a team can lose form or not be at the same level as previously (peak to early) and there are many football examples i can give..not saying at all its going to happen and i def hope not...but I'm saying IT IS POSSIBLE..you can't rule out the possibility

Well we won't know if we have 'peaked too early' or not until after we loose which I am sure we won't (I generally have a good feeling about these things however I'm never always right) I am sure we can make it to the top and stay there. What matters most is our away game against CCM, they are the only team which we haven't had a win against and I'm sure we can, will be an interesting game CCMvWSW as will this upcoming game against glory

Teams have gone all season being undefeated. Its not peaking early. Its being consistent and the best.
