We should have had a draw against them in Brisbane, and could have beaten them twice at Pirtek. I am very positive about this one.

To those who are struggling with availability of flights and/or the expense of it all: flying into Gold Coast might be an option, as there is a direct train line connection into Brisbane Central. The flights are much more reasonable at the moment than Brisbane, but those who use that option would want need to fly out on Monday.

Barring a massive shift in ACL slots for Australia, Yes, and even if there is a shift, at worst we should end up with a play-off.

Looks like the Mariners will end up getting the 3rd slot now. :nono:

Would love to be at Suncorp.   A little pricey when the cost of flights for the family is more than the cost of the family membership for the season.  Will be watching on the big screen at Castle Hill RSL with the family.   Hope those making the trip enjoy the experience.

Hi all, I am new here - just registered as I am hoping to get some info about the GF. I'm a big fan of Shinji Ono and wanted to catch his last game with WSW. Just wanted some advice - as a non member, can I purchase away tickets when tickets go out on sale to the public? if so, what are my chances of getting one? - unlikely? Can anyone advise as I am keen to sit in an away section.

Plus, are there any recommended accommodations for WSW supporters in Brisbane? Do people know what hotel the team uses?

Thanks in advance!

- Last performance in a WSW will be at pirtek a 1 and 1/2 weeks after the grand final

- if up you buy tickets when they come on sale to the football family (Google FFA football family, register with email) you should be able to get a ticket (refer to link posted by Mack below)

- Can't get a ticket unless you are a member if you want to sit in the active area, but maybe a forumite who isn't going

- Get accommodation close to suncorp if you can or near Roma street station, no idea what the team uses

- Keep an eye out on the RBB Facebook page for pre game WSW fan meet up!

- this thread is for the match discussion thread but there are two threads created one discussing the trip and the other discussing grand final tickets.

Doing that (keep note of your details like the actual specific number they give you), you'll have access to the "Football Family" booking window which is from 9am Tuesday.

If you go through the football family at 9am on Tuesday you shouldn't have any problem at all getting tickets the game itself. There aren't enough members of either club to sell out the stadium.

if so, what are my chances of getting one? - unlikely? Can anyone advise as I am keen to sit in an away section.

You won't be able to get 'active away', but for WSW matches, there's never just 'one' active bay. If you get one of the away orange area tickets you'll likely end up near the active area (and then just make your way over to where you feel comfortable).

If you can't get into one of the 'non-active' away bays with Football Family status, you'll have to take your chances on (imo) getting an Orange ticket, and then trying to bluff your way into the Wanderers area. Hopefully the stadium won't be dicks about things. At least you'll be in the stadium to watch the match though.

Plus, are there any recommended accommodations for WSW supporters in Brisbane? Do people know what hotel the team uses?

Thanks in advance!

It's a big city. Pick whatever type of hotel you want. I'd suggest using http://www.booking.com/ and then using their filter after selecting "Brisbane" to match your budget/requirements.

How hard would it be to get back to the gold coast after the game?

You'd have to factor in the one hour trip back plus, whatever it takes from the heart of Brisbane to suncorp! Poe you could just taxi it?

Found myself hoping for Victory to win but not sure why.

Happy we're playing the Roar - it will make winning the grand final all the more meritorious to beat the competition winner.

We were all cheering the victory - would have been a "home" final.

I was alternately cheering for a berisha red card. Sadly neither of these things came to pass.

I have booked to fly back from the Gold Coast at 9pm on Sunday. Get away from ground at 7pm, walk to car, leave Brisbane 7.30pm, arrive Gold Coast airport 8.30pm

That is assuming no traffic hold ups.

I also foresee a long night in the airport terminal when it all goes horrlbly wrong but I have a hire car so could always just keep driving to Sydney !!

Flights booked, I'll be arriving just on kick off to the ground.

Good luck, anyone take a punt at home many we will take up? I think we will sell our allocation and then a good few more.

If you stay in the proximity of a gold coast train station it should be a simple train trip from the cbd. You may want to play with the translink journey planner.
