Talk of Brisbane always reminds of that old Billy Connolly joke........

"If you had to give the world an enema, you'd stick  it in Brisbane.

I liked Jerry Seinfeld referring to Melbourne as the 'anus of the world' :) Mind you the Melburnians took it to heart and it wasn't long ago Seinfeld was still apologising about that comment

I sent an email to the club last night saying that we need to wear our home kit in the GF.

They replied saying that they agree, and their football operations department have requested that they wear the home jersey.

:woah:

I love that you sent them an email. Thats so **** funny. should definitely be full home kit. red/black is fine against the orange. white shorts obviously contrast with their black and black socks against orange is fine too.

Whether it's Brissy or Melb, that's why NSW is here. To keep the Victorians from breeding with Queenslanders.

Ahh the banter has started already.  Love it.  TBH I think a lot of Roar fans are looking forward to the atmosphere you guys will bring.  When CCM came up for the GF a couple of seasons ago we had some great chanting/banter going on in Caxton st before the game.  I hope you guys will be the same and keep it all fun and friendly.  Whatever happens we don't want to give the mainstream media the opportunity to villify football fans again.  Look forward to seeing you lot on match day..and don't forget your hankies for wiping away the tears when you lose to the best team the A-league has seen. ;)

Stoked to have drawn WSW, I cant wait to see the support you bring up and I think its genuinely the best two teams.

Honestly cant pick it at this point but most Roar fans are nervous, as I'm sure you are. Not much between the two, if anything.

Good luck and enjoy the trip north!

I'm originaly from victoria. Moved to queensland and imediately tried to copulate with locals. After a decade of ceaseless attempts I found a queensland lady who was "up for it". Anyway, to cut a long story short, I have a son with victorian and queensland blood, and he has the nerve to call ME an asshole.

Should just wear it anyway. It's not like its gonna clash.

Also black shorts :P

I don't think they'd allow or we'd want to play in black shorts as it would clash with Brisbane's

The more I think about, the more positive I am about this match.

If we show up for 90 minutes and not just 70 as in November we ll be more than on eye level. We had a few important players out with injury back then (Ono, Hersi, Juric from memory), and still should have walked away with a draw after being 0:2 behind.

The two draws in Parramatta have to be taken with a pinch of salt as we were playing with semi strength teams due to our ACL commitments. This time we ll be rested and will only miss Bridgey.

Maybe most importantly, the Roar are not used to any noticeable opposition in the stands. When I think back to Dec 28th, 1500 of us kept 20k VICtards quiet, and it felt like an away match to them. I'd say that 3000 of us can have the same effect in Suncorp. But we ll be up there with more than 3000. Many more.

I am very confident that "Brisbane - clap clap clap" and "oi oi oi" will only be audible in the close proximity of the Den. It will be a very different "home" game for the Roar.

Muscatt is right. The GF is for the Roar to lose. The Roar camp has reason to feel somewhat nervous. I will be travelling very confident to QLD.

Would love to be at Suncorp.   A little pricey when the cost of flights for the family is more than the cost of the family membership for the season.  Will be watching on the big screen at Castle Hill RSL with the family.   Hope those making the trip enjoy the experience.

I wouldn't bother with Castle Hilll RSL. The misses emailed them and got this response...

·         Re your enquiry.    This Club supports NRL , therefore the above match will be viewed if requested but unfortunately, there will be no sound.  Hope have given you suffice information.

·         Kind regards

With the City V Country game on and that starts before the GF any club that supports NRL will play that and you won't get a look in..

Nevertheless, I have a cunning plan - STAY TUNED.!!!

Well **** Castle Hill RSL...or any other club that has a position along those lines.

Perhaps they might like to tell all those parents and kids involved with their junior football teams that they are more interested in supporting a sport where drugs, drink driving, sexual misconduct, brain damage and other anti-social activities are de rigeur...

And perhaps the Wanderers and FFA might like to know the club's attitude when it comes to Castle Hill RSL asking for support in grassroots football initiatives.

As much as I like the all-white away kit I think they might get away with our normal home kit (white shorts)... shouldn't provide any clash: orange v red/black, black v white & orange v black.

Yep, replied back to Castle Hill RSL and let them know of our disdane... :-)

Then rang someone I know at Rooty Hill RSL and they are VERY interested in having us there.!!!

They will have a function room with bar or large area available, subject to the numbers.!!!

Is that so? Bring your ear muffs then. The best support team the A-league has seen is coming your way. There will be many of us, and there will be DRUMS. Your Den will look and sound like Brisbane's answer to Sesame Street in comparison.

Did someone say DRUMS?  :woah:

Shocked at Castle Hill RSL's attitude.

Surprising considering they have their own football club, and many local juniors support the Wanderers.

I reckon they're **** scared the whole RBB are going to turn up, complete with our mates, the NSW Riot Squad.

lol. Idiots.
