Strange having the two away games to victory so close together. Any reason for the scheduling?

This was meant to be on Feb 15 but was moved because the stadium had already been booked for a concert and Etihad was also unavailable.

But then I heard the other day that the game being moved had to do with an ACL clash. Is that just an excuse for poor organisation?

The reason is the FFA are **** with scheduling.

Victory have their ACL playoff on or around the original date.

Anyway, unfinished business from last time, we will take 3 points to rectify putting some more pressure on Brisbane - who hopefully can't handle the pressure.

Don't get me started on this one! I've got return flights booked to Melbourne for that weekend but no match to go to. DeBaboon must feel a sting in his deeper brain regions whenever this "reschedule" is being mentioned. Classic example for FFA incompetence in general and - as this stuff up  happened on his watch - his own incompetence in particular. Classic fail.

Cannot wait for this one! But f*** 41 degrees? Record for Melb?

45.6 in their January record temperature and 46.4 is their February record temperature.

We might see another rotated squad for this match after only 3 days rest and then another game against the reds on the weekend.

FFA are ****ed in terms of organisation.

The 15th of February is when Victory play their ACL qualifying game. Surely FFA would have known about this when making their schedule for the draw.

In any case, immesnly looking forward to this game in the heat... Should be heaps of fun

Would anyone know if our team is going into camp for the next 2 games or will they be travelling Home- Melb-home, Home to Adl-home a few days later?

Juric was taken off just after 60 minutes and it didn't look like he was injured, so that suggests that Popa was saving him for Tuesday night.

I want to see Mooy start in this game in the #10 role replacing Ono in the starting line up, Popa said that he wants him to score more goals, so why not put him in the position to do so? instead of playing him in the holding midfielder role.

The only problem with that is with La Rocca and Poljak most likely out, Mooy is the next most experienced player in the holding midfielder position, and because were playing away and with the short turn around, Popa will likely go conservative in his team selections

When did Australia get 2.5 ACL spots?

because last season when the victory finished third, I remember their being talk that the AFC had not decided the final allocation for ACL yet and that we we're going to get 1.5 spots which meant that the mariners had to qualify.

Then the A-League draw for this season came out, and after that Victory we're confirmed to have a playoff spot in ACL.

I cant remember what happened first, this season's draw, or Victory being confirmed by AFC to have a playoff qualifying spot in ACL.

If this is the case then its not FFA's fault that they scheduled a victory game when ACL playoffs were scheduled for, if they didnt know Victory we're even going to be in the ACL.

However it is still the FFA's fault that they let AAMI Park reschedule their game because Bruce Springsteen announced a sudden surprise tour in Australia (I'm not a boss fan but my dad is and he wont shut up about the fact that hes coming to australia again, so I've become a slightly informal expert in this area).
The FFA shoudl've been more forceful and say that the game cant be moved from the scheduled date

26th November 2013 is when 2.5 spots for australia was confirmed

so therefore the game being moved due to ACL isnt the FFA's fault,

its simply the FFA not having enough balls to take on Fontier Touring and AAMI Park

Flight leaves in little over 6hrs and I had limited sleep last night because of EPL and La Liga. Although I feel tired and my body aches from jumping around in the terrace last night, I'm still buzzing and have been chanting Euphoria non stop. Football can be such a beautiful thing some weeks.

As for this match, and the upcoming one against the Reds, I'll be satisfied with taking 2 points from the clashes. I know for some, this would be considered below-par, but it is essential we have the best preparation for ACL, and the only way is to remain fit, fresh and healthy.

I disagree:

- MV have lost 3 players to u22's Asian cup, no Milligan, also have some injuries

- if popa plays the rotated squad against MV, then we can expect a full strength squad against the reds and thus 4 points from 2 games!

- it is what we are going to do for acl, so perfect opportunity for squad rotation

Rodz, you sound buggered but still have enough energy to go hard, love the passion mate

Would love to see Perkatis get a run this game. Ahead of trifiro.

Was just gonna say I wanted to see Perkatis play. Ahead of Mooy for all I care atm.

That is true they are playing what is essentially their B squad, however, 3 games in a week is absolutely brutal. We're struggling to play that high press and the heat in Melbourne will tire us even more.

I am buggered, but watching/sitting/standing/chanting/jumping in the terrace with your mates and extended family is something special. It's one of the marvels of football, that you travel anywhere and one of the first things you identify yourself with is your football club.

Gents, my friend and I will be attending the game. Can someone tell me where will the WSW fans will be having pre-drinks? Btw, we support the Heart. Want to attend this game for a number of reasons; want to see a win against MV, friends/cousins support West Sydney but unfortuntely will not be heading down and I can't stand MV. 3 good enough reasons to go.

If you support Heart why would you want to involve yourselves with us Westie scum? This post sounds alarmingly familiar to a few posts we recieved last melbourne trip.

Perhaps it does sound familiar. But you might want to read my previous posts on this forum. I'm not a MV leech

I remember ABC's posts regarding Heart from some time back.

Just steer clear of Manfred ( if he's heading down there) if you do meet up with the WSW supporters ABC -  LOL!!.   :xnod:

still bitter about the last victory result, I expect 3 points tommorow night, nothing less.

perhaps a kevin muscat ban to the stands for abusing the officials might be icing on the cake

As much as I would love 3 points, its going to be bloody hard with the short turn around even if we rotate the squad. On the plus side for us Melbourne Victory are missing players to that u22 tournament.

Ah yes, good 'ol Manfred. How can one forget him. I better proof-read what I type as I have just been issued a warning saying "...pretending to be a heart fan thanks. This is a warning only, no punishment has been given." This is more like communism. I can't even say who I support lol

Link to comment

Not a PM. Can't even remember who sent it to be honest. Just had to acknowledge the warning so I can post again. Anyway, back to my original qn. If anyone can fill me in would be happy to introduce myself.
