Really it doesn't matter if you are or are not a heart fan, you can imagine due to recent events people wouldn't be thrilled that opposition fans are asking for our pre-match information.

Understandable mack. But you also have to realise there are fans out there who love the game and have a second/third favorite team and would like to mingle with other supporters.

Popa confirmed Alessi won't play so with him and Polenz out who is RB???

Cole, the ultimate utility but haven't seen him around the match day squad for a while, think he may have injured himself before Christmas

Yeah Cole played for the Yourh side on the weekend - for the whole second half.

He seemed a bit hesitant going into tackles. Could tell he wasn't at full fitness yet, but was good to see him getting a run.

Heffernan?

My only thought against this, NTS is the only left sided CB we have and the only reason I don't see meggsy and Spira playing together is that they are both right sided CB's, showing Popa's reluctance to play our boys out of position.

MELBOURNE Victory coach Kevin Muscat has backed his depleted side to produce a competitive performance against Western Sydney Wanderers tomorrow, despite missing a host of important players.

Following their 1-1 draw away to Newcastle Jets on Friday, Victory must play for the second time in five days, with the Round 19 match against the Wanderers, originally scheduled for February, re-arranged due to AAMI Park's unavailability next month.

While Adrian Leijer will return from suspension, his fellow centre-back Pablo Contreras must sit the game out for disciplinary reasons. Key midfielders Mark Milligan and Mitch Nichols are in doubt, while Scott Galloway, Jason Geria, Connor Pain and Nick Ansell are all away on international duty with Australia's Under-22 side.

And with all those absentees, the Victory coach is unable to make changes to freshen up the team following their short turnaround.

"If I had some more bodies I probably would," he said. "The players are fully aware of the numbers we've got, the bodies we've got available at the moment.

"Obviously Pablo's suspended. Mitch Nichols came off with a knock to his knee. And we're still not sure on Mark Milligan."

When pressed on the likelihood of Nichols being passed fit to play, Muscat said: "I'd suggest he'll struggle, to be honest, he'll struggle to play tomorrow.

"If I'm honest, I was pleased with the performance at the weekend. It was pretty disjointed, as expected, early on.

"(There were) a lot of ... new combinations and players who didn't play in positions previously. But I've got confidence, we've got a good squad here a lot of the young boys come in and did well."

Wide defender Adama Traore was moved to centre-back against the Jets, with teenager Dylan Murnane replacing him at left-back, and Leigh Broxham filling in on the other flank.

Aside from Leijer replacing Contreras, Muscat confirmed the makeshift defence would remain the same for the visit of the Wanderers.

"Pretty handy that we're getting these suspensions one at a time," he said.

"Ado (Leijer) will come in. That'll be another reshuffle to the defence. But, like I said, rather than worry about the players that aren't here and aren't available, I've got to concentrate on the ones that are, because they certainly done themselves proud and really had a go on Friday night."

The last match between the Wanderers and Victory in Melbourne late last month was marred by a confrontation between supporters in the city before the game, followed by flares and smoke bombs being set off by away fans at AAMI Park.

However, Muscat said he does not anticipate trouble from the home contingent this week.

"The fans of this football club have been the flag-bearers of the A-League since the start of the competition," he said.

"For the fact there's a small minority which misbehave, all in all, the majority have been superb for us and I have no reason to think it won't be the same tomorrow."

And as for a potential repeat of issues in the away corner of the stadium, Muscat added: "It's something that's certainly out of my control.

"I'll just worry about picking the best team possible for a good game of football tomorrow night."

Just had footage of the guys on a training run on 7 news and no sign of Beauchamp, Polenz or Poljak. Among the usual suspects was Alessi, Fofanah and I think Martin Lo.

Yeah, cole played RB at youth league game. Seemed to go alright but i remember one incident where he was one on one defending, and he jumped in and got beaten.

Not too sure how he would go against high quality attack though.

I'm sure this will all change though.....

are NT still doing their cute little protest by not sitting in the middle bay?

Have some respect. Standing, instruments, banners, flags all exist in this league because the North Terrace fought to have them, if it was left to the FFA you'd be sitting in your seats and clapping politely.

RBB have done extremely well in a very short time, but you have benefited from wars that happened years before you were founded.

You are oinly now are starting to experience what we lived with 8 years (and make no mistake it will get nastier once the FA sells you). Hopefully if in 6 years time a new club starts, they will treat you with some respect.

I wonder if Beauchamp will play at right fullback? Popovic said Alessi is unlikely to play again and with Polenz still out, there aren't too many options unless Cole comes in. With three games in 8 days and injury depleted squad, I won't be surprised to see a flat performance unless the players are rotated.

Maybe Alessi was given a go as a warm up for this game. Plays 70, Cole takes 20, and maybe vice versa against Adelaide.

Beauchamp isn't fast or agile enough to play fullback, I'd give spira a crack at fullback and have NTS and Meggsy at centre backs

How is the 44 year old from Kingsville that got arrested yesterday for the events that took place on the 28th? You'd think at that age he would be bringing his kids to the game, not attacking teenagers and young adults.
