If the rumours are true, which I sincerely hope they are NOT, and Hersi was to leave us for the enemy ESFC...................

HE WOULD BE DEAD TO ME

It is that simple........

Players do what they see as in the best longer term prospects for their career. If ESFC offer him a healthy contract (say 2 or 3 years) for a increase in wage then could you blame him for turning it down?  Don't know much about his family and if he has a wife and kids or not.

I have been in fixed term contracts myself and at places I have quite enjoyed working at. When the chance of a permanent contract came up at a major competitor I jumped at the chance. Told my boss what I had been offered and if he could match it and he couldn't so I shook his hand and off I went.

The WSW ownership issue is becoming more pressing as the months tick by. I am sure Hersi's first preference is WSW but if you are on a season to season contract you can't blame any player really. I know Popa says he likes this to keep players in their toes, but not sure I agree, I think it is more because he doesn't have a choice!

Whilst I do agree somewhat and can completely understand the reasons a player would like/prefer some stability in his life and sporting career, for me, it changes nothing.

I speak purely as a diehard committed WSW disciple.....If a player CHOOSES to leave the club due to wage/ contract demands this is very different to not being offered a competitive contract in the beginning.

As a result, if you CHOOSE to leave the club then perhaps I could handle that. I wouldn't like it, but I could handle it. However, if you CHOOSE to leave the club to play for THE SMURFS........................well lets just say respect is out the window.

No one, and I don't care who you are, can say that they "love playing at WSW" and are "passionate about the club and its supporters" and then choose to leave th4 club to play for the clubs direct territorial enemy...... to me it means you never had true passion/love for the club and its people in the beginning.

I would rather he follow his career back to Europe if he cannot get the deal done here with WSW........ at least out of respect for the supporter base.

Loyalty is the key.

Perhaps he needs to have a word in his managers ear about salary.... lets not forget that it was gamble to have him here in the first place after sustaining serious knee injuries and not having played for a long time due to injury.

popa brought Hersi back from the brink physically and fine tuned him into the gun he is now.......that deserves respect and loyalty if you ask me.

Good post and don't disagree, wouldn't want him to go to ESFC either. But at the same time every player at WSW would if given the right opportunity be off and on their way if it advanced their career or offered more money. Don't confuse the passion we have as fans for the club with professionalism shown by players. We will always be at WSW but players will come and go. Some might turn in to WSW fans when they leave others will never look back as soon as they are out the door.

No one player is bigger than WSW, something Hersi might want to understand at the moment. If Hersi went to the blue scum it would make smashing them even more sweet than it already is. The only thing Hersi owes us is to resolve the current situation with a bit of dignity / respect. Loyalty doesn't come in to transfer dealings, that is for the terraces. Plenty of players around the world have moved between big competitors. Many players have mixed between the top 3 north east England teams where I am from, don't like it but it happens.

I think this will be a close one.

The Nux will come out with the same physicality as the previous game at home - PLUS - it will be interesting to see how we bounce back after a loss with anymore shuffles in the squad.

It will be interesting to see how we go in an attacking sense since we lost 3 of our main attacking threats.

Defensively we should be fine.

Tahj is not a starting player till he grows a brain.. Don't get me wrong I like him and he is improving wat he offers each week but not a starter yet.

2 reasons I wouldnt sign hersi on a long contact and back popa up is.. 1 as someone said before.. Physical reliability and 2 his brain snaps which left us with 10 men twice if I can remember not to mention the suspended games to follow those reds... Still he is a weapon wen 100% and we need him

Tahj is ok, you'll have a low pass completion when you come on late in games pumping crosses in.

Hersi was pants till he started regularly.

Good luck to all the Wanderers across there today. May you all be in full voice and sure you will do us all proud. FC sitting second just isn't right on so many levels so let us hope order is restored to the universe this afternoon.

In the last two games he has come on he has only hit 2 crosses.  He has turned the ball over with short, medium and long pass attempts in the back, middle and forward thirds of the pitch.  17 pass attempts with 6 completed is not a big sample but it does indicate the problem he has with choosing and making a pass.  In those two games he has attempted to take on his opponent 8 times with only 2 successful.  Maybe he needs to have a creative player utilising his pace to put him in behind the defence so he does get into crossing positions.

Bridge and Santalab need to be on song today, cant afford to miss any opportunity, must stay on top of those Sky Blues

Its a worry when the Sky Blues are the standard to judge our team on.  Hopefully its only an occasional experience.

hopefully Tahj is given a starting spot, his cameo's over the last few weeks show he is getting lethal.

cant blame Hersi for wanting stability etc, notice though how the reports/rumours dont actually quote Hersi? just the media & player agents trying to stir the pot & get the deal which suits them more than the player. Hersi wont go to SFC, its quite noticable how unstable the club is.....

Tahj looked good in pre-season but whilst he has pace, he's been a bit like a headless chook in those cameos with a fair few instances of poor decision making. When fit, Kubi offers something similar so both are far from the finished article and we need to sort this one out quickly !!

I checked out Stat Zone this afternoon after reading Sime11's post. To back up your analysis Tahj's pass completion rate has been 25% and 40% in the last two games which is vey low and his take on success rate has also been low. Its great to see him running at tired defences but his decision making would have to improve a lot for him to be a long term alternative to Hersi in my view.

Was a bit surprised after the roar game to see lots of love for tahj's performance. Those stats were what I saw. I like his energy, and you felt he had a better chance of doing something should he get into some space, but yeah.

MB's back and hersi's on the bench.....?!

So Heffernan is LB or is it Cole?

Good to see Hersi on the bench, I like the look of this line up with Haliti up front.Let's see if Cindric gets a debut

Where is everyone? The Roxy is dead.

I would guess many would be at Marconi.

Try the Woolpack, should be some there.
