Ticketek works in mysterious ways. Our membership is for Bay 53, and we somehow ended up in Bay 54s and 59. Go figure.

There are still single tickets available. Doesn't look like the Mariners members feel the burning desire to come down Parramatta after all. Funny that.

Yeah, they have a whinge about there being not enough tickets and then still don't snap up what's left... hypocrisy at its finest, seems like it's a cultural thing at the Mariners too.

Very happy about ACL run.

Don't care at all about "finals".

For me the season ended two weeks ago. Second in the league and a chance to qualify for next years CL.

"Ooh ooh ooh, you can keep playing for another trophy"

"**** off and give it to someone else".

Popa should use the next game as a warm up for next ACL match.

Fair enough most of us feel coming first over the season is the real comp and more satisfying. BUT any opportunity to watch the Wanderers is brilliant to me. Playing for silverware is playing for silverware, call it whatever you want ..... Yes cup final whatevs. Thing is at the moment were guaranteed a play off for next seasons ACL. Lets make a bird of it. Plus with all the haters out there, anything that gets up their noses and keeps us in the spotlight the better. Its all good fun Zip.

Don't expect a open game ,WSW will play attacking football

Noticed last night fox cameras had a vision on CCM Assistant coach

& on his board had them playing 5-4-1.

Just change there name to BORINATORS !!!!!!!!!!

Apparently they played 5-4-1 in their previous ACL match and in the round 27 match against Brisbane.

It'll be interesting how we combat that. Last season we would have been stuffed. Our 'sit back and hit on the counter' plan wouldn't work and we had no plan b (0-2 against 10 man Victory at Parra anyone?) But now we've developed a more possession based game to compliment our defensive structure.

If we hold the ball like we did away against Ulsan and keep our defensive structure when they break then we should be ok. Plus if we score first they have to completely change the way they set up to try and get back into the game.

I have the feeling Moss may go on the offensive and try to get an early goal. Ibini, Fitzgerald and Simon didn't play last night with Rose only playing 30min and Duke 10mins. That lot is half an outfield team and they're all offensive players.... one more so in another sense than the others!  I must say Hutchsion was very congratulatory and complimentary of us in his post match comments last night. I think he said more about us than he did his own team... vary gracious... unlike his ex-boss last season when we took out the premiership.

PAX 19381

while its great that it could be a sell out, the problem with that is that it justifies the FFA's decision in regards to the ticket prices and the KO time

They could have charged $100 per seat and played it at 10am on a Tuesday and people would show up.

The FFA will gouge in whatever way they see possible. How many leagues around the world don't capitalise on supply/demand?

Tickets are always more expensive for finals (in arguably almost every sport), and the KO time is stipulated purely by Foxtel and what they want.

Not saying it is right, but it is a reality around the world. People seem to forget that we paid more last year for finals tickets too.

However we can't just let the FFA charge what they want.  They need to understand that the fans aren't just an ATM machine with no overdraft fees,

I don't see how a 6:30pm KO is good for foxtel, don't television what games as late as possible because that's when primetime TV is?

Great to see the FFA getting a good amount of additional revenue from this game.  Hopefully it will help them not have to go to the Government to ask for an additional allocation from the ASC to keep them solvent as they have had to for all but 1 year of their existence.

has the PAX ever hit 20,000 at Wanderland? id don't think I've every see it do that. This could be the time ;)

Unlikely this week as there are plenty of seats available in the RBB section, however, only members can purchase them.

Well they managed to sell it out without any real hassles, so people are willing to pay it to see the team they love (again, not saying it is right).

Re: Foxtel, they have multiple sports on at once and want the maximum eye balls on all sports. If the game is played at 6:30 theoretically they may get viewers who would normally be watching another sport/something else. The casual viewers tend to switch on more during finals.

Everything the FFA does is pretty much to appease Foxtel (who paid $160M for the privilege).

course the FFA have to do what foxtel want, it would be stupid not to.

Just very annoyed because of work I cant make a 6:30 KO, 7:45PM would've been fine.

I agree that the kick off time should be 7:45, it was absolutely ridiculous they wanted to play the elimination final at 4:30 (like they did last week for CCM v ADL).

Justifies that memberships should have been capped at approx 12k too. The only time the stadium sells out is when everyone has access to every seat. Sick of 25% of members not turning up each week and the "sell out" sign going up yet only 15-16k at the game. Obviously the membership can't be capped now so the buy back scheme must be in place next season.

but what the fk would I know.

It will be great to see Wanderland genuinely packed again. Hopefully North Terrace will somehow be too!

Thinking about it, ticketed memberships, so prized at virtually every club, have been a handicap for us.

We would have been far better off selling memberships that gave one a standard merchandise component, plus an exclusive preference window (to purchase the seat 'reserved' under your name, perhaps at a discount) in pre-sale that would expire a week before a home game. Thereafter, any empty seats would be available to everyone else.

This way, we would have been playing before real sellouts most weeks and would have had a crowd average well in excess of 14,000.

It may be different, but it would not be impossible for the club to implement such a procedure next season. Buy-backs would be all but unnecessary. They would certainly have made more money this season with such a model.

This will look so crap if there are empty blue seats either side in the NT. Especially if people who want to come can't. Open the internal gates at least!

This is an excellent solution. Some of the "sellouts" have been as low as 14K this year. Would be interested to know how many people actually put tickets on the buyback when it was used for the entire stadium against Roar.

I think their arguement is that they give us heaps of away bays so why don't we do the same.

I know that centrelink dole bludgers are stupid, but maybe that salty seawater had gotten to their heads

It's effectively a buy back but an opt in instead of an opt out. I wouldn't like to have to avtually purchase tickets ever week but I wouldn't mind sending a text or an email or ticking a box somewhere or sending some other sort of bright illuminating signal or whatever they'd want.

There is nothing more symbolic of the FFA's total lack of understanding, maybe even fear, of football culture and active support than their repressive use of the membership and ticketing systems to ensure at least a third of the NT is empty of fans. The very organisation that is supposed to be leading, nurturing, developing and promoting our game is instead consumed by the neurosis of trying to control and restrict its most ardent supporters. It's truly pathetic.

For those of you unable to attend or just in case the RBB is a bit out of practice, I'd say there would be nothing better than getting down to Parra tomorrow morning and belting out a bunch of tunes to those lovely tourists staying at the local hotels.

The Mariners will check into their Parramatta hotel on Friday morning and try to get as much rest as possible before the match the following evening.

The FFA own the Wanderers they are trying to sell the Wanderers so they are making it impossible for the Mariners so as to increase the value of the Wanderers
