just go to their hotel with a really loud speaker and blast bee gees or something

I mentioned in another thread that the Ulsan squad stayed at the Mercure on Hassall St in Rosehill. If it's up to the home team to organise accommodation then Guizhou could also be there.

Western Sydney has no injury concerns, “a nice problem to have,†Popovic noted, but will play both this tie and Saturday’s semi-final on a pitch he admitted will hardly reflect the importance of the games.

“It’s OK at best,†he said. “We’ve trained on it - it’ll be the same for both sides but we’ve certainly played on better pitches. We know the ground staff will do everything they can, but it’s certainly seen better days.â€

Hmph.

Hopefully it doesn't lull our players into a false sense of security!

I don't think this will be our problem because they know what we have to do and how important the game is however; do you remember our last qualifier before the World Cup when we had to win against Iraq to qualify who had no chance of making the WC?

Well I forsee something very similar in this game:

- Iraq sent out a young team who had nothing to play for but experience and getting ready for the Olympic Games qualifiers

- Iraq played with a lot of freedom and we were very nervous, they played a very good game for there level, defended solidly but didn't just sit back under pressure instead they attacked putting us under pressure

- It wasn't until we scored that goal right towards the end that we knocked the fight and initiative out of the team of youngsters who had nothing to prove and nothing to play for.

So based on the above, I can see tonight being very similar as in the Chinese side will play with a lot of freedom and know that if they impress that they might get a senior contract next season. It will only be after we get a goal or knock the fight out of them that they will make it easy for us! Also I can see them being very aggressive trying to play for the win which means that they put us under a lot of pressure but hopefully give us a half chance to get that goal!

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. There is no way Guizhou will be parking the bus, they will surely come out firing.

At least we don't have to travel so Popa can play a strong side without being worried about being unprepared for Saturday (compared to CCM who get back to Australia on Friday)

I thought you had to bring more than 14 for an ACL game? Cause usually the bench has like 5 players

I guess there is nothing to be said that you have to fill the 5 seats but they are there , available if needed.

I'm less convinced about a strong lineup, I can see him playing Ono for 30 if needed, same for juric (just a brief run but play Santa for most) but I'm less convinced that he will want to play any or many of the first XI on Saturday. He will want to keep everyone fresh, everyone will want to play but I'm sure he is more concerned to have intensity for 90 minutes as CCM will tire towards the end of the game. Surely (I'm hoping) that will play in our advantage that they have a must win game tonight or tomorrow and will need their best XI on the field.

Oh dear... how can the pitch be crap? The Eels were at Snore-bush yesterday, maybe they've been training on it too? I really think the A-League clubs should get the venue for free (or at least a reduced cost) if the pitch isn't up the standard... anyone know of what SLA's are in place?

This is true. I would like to see Santa coming off the bench, impact player is his middle name.

But then again I don't know why I bother trying to read Popa's mind, I will never get it right.

$hit pitch tonight. Hopefully it recovers for Saturday.

3-0 WSW. Lets go out there and dominate and bring it home.

Mate of mine wants to come but just wants to rock up and buy at the gate. Is that possible and what is the likelyhood of it being sold out?

I think their coach is gonna put on the boots and keep warmed up during the game in case he's called upon
