Surely, if everyone is so incensed by the exorbitant ticket prices charged for this game, it is worthwhile voicing your opinion to the club about it?

Not to try and change the venue/price but to put them on notice that WSW fans don't like being taken for a ride (or ripped off), and requesting either a change in venue, or ticket price, for the future. If enough people voice their opinion, the supposed "people's club" would have to start listening.

Drop the club an email or give them a call and let them know you aren't happy. Because not turning up, and staying silent, doesn't change anything. With limited capacity, the ground will be close too, if not, full, regardless of whether you turn up. And the club will be none the wiser.

Half time and its 0-0. Kubi had a tap in on the penalty spot and hit the bar. Wellington playing a really high line and riding their luck with the offside trap.

First half lineup:

Tyson

Cole - Beauchamp - Heffernan - D'Apuzzo

Trifiro - Mooy

Kubi - Haliti - Bridge

Juric

No worries mate. I'm sure the club will learn from this fiasco.

2-1 come from behind win for the boys thanks to a Santalab double.  Looking forward to comments from those who where there and the highlights reel and Popa interview.

Just got home from the game. A bit scrappy but the team was pretty mixed up and the pitch didn't really help things.

As I mentioned before, Wellington played a really high line and pressed in the first half. Took our guys a little while to work out that playing through all the congested field wasn't going to work so we started trying to play balls over the top with Kubi, Haliti and Juric trying to get in behind. Juric played Mooy through who got one on one with the keeper and unselfishly squared it up for Kubi to tap in to the empty net, only to see Kubi find the crossbar. Heffernan had a good game at CB and Trifiro got a lot of touches on the ball in midfield.

Lots of changes at half time with Ono, Hersi, Polenz, Poljak, Covic and Minnecon coming on. The extra quality showed and we took control of the match, with Hersi and Polenz linking up well down the right and Minnecon looking dangerous down the left.

Santalab and Lo came on and not long after we conceded. Wellington crossed from the byline and Fenton tapped in after a bit of a scramble.

Lo looked really composed on the ball. Didn't do anything amazing but got all the simple stuff right and very rarely gave the ball away.

With less than 10mins to go Polenz crossed the ball into the box from the right and Santalab headed home the equaliser. Then with pretty much the last play of the match the two linked up with a carbon copy of the first goal to grab the winner.

Also in the first half the RBB decided that they didn't like the spot they were given opposite the stand so they tried to go to the area behind the goal that was fenced off. Security and the police looked like they freaked out a bit but eventually opened the fence and let them through.

Very poor playing surface, the team looked better 2nd half (had 4 trialists on too which was interesting) polenz and Ono cross for both santalabs headers were class.

Very promising the team has the hunger already to score 2 goals last 10 mins to win!!

Wasn't very good shape in the first half, Service was shaky so hard to criticize Juric too much.

Brilliant link up play with Haliti and Bridge playing a Spanish-esque back heel back to Haliti for a tapin for Kubi who hit the bar...

Second half we seemed to have more structure with Ono and Polenz and more space once Hersi opened the game up.

Again Marty Lo fantastic little player, unsure of himself in defence but doesn't play a pass wrong on the offence imo

Santalab throwing his head at it like a beast! 2 great headers, top finishes with play like that he might get the nod over Juric.

If anyone was wondering why RBB moved from the sidelines to behind the goal it was because those seats were ridiculously unsafe, we've had a few fence collapses last season and it was not worth risking another one when all that was holding the crowd back from a 1.5 metre drop were cable ties and plastic barriers.
Add to that the fact that a lot of GA tickets spilled over into the RBB section it was an accident waiting to happen.

Those plastic barriers were ridiculous they were coming undone from 2 or 3 people bumping into them let alone an active group going mental. The ground management should have had the hill open from the beginning or if they wanted that hill closed off then have the RBB at the other hill and the general on both sides.

Makes sense why you guys made the move, I was standing on the grandstand side and we (general admission) were wondering what was going on. They shouldn't of sectioned off the far hill from the start though.

They were by far the dumbest thing I have seen in regards to this sort of issue. Definitely should have been better planned.

in this topic I posted that I didn't mind giving state league football $15 for a game.

but FFS think about us before you think of the $$$$$.

it was completely unsafe to put the rbb where we initially were located. people were falling off the seats, barging into the barriers, couldn't walk through, were literally in the garden against the fence next to the houses that back onto the ground. it was disgusting. someone or even more than one person could have been seriously hurt.

hopefully whoever made this decision has learnt from this. as much as I love pre season at local parks, we arnt what we were last season. we have grown and need the facilities.

Great decision by the RBB to move to the fenced off area. I spoke to seccies and said that I hoped they had first aid ready for the disaster that was going to be those flimsy aluminium seats.

The seccies and adjacent police laughed at me and told me to move on. Unfortunately they did not have the necessary skills to foresee what was bound to be a disaster. It was almost as if they wanted it to happen. If the RBB hadn't of forcefully made their way towards the barrier, the police and security would of never allowed that area to be opened by mere negotiations.

Well in to everyone, especially those who ensured calm heads prevailed.

How hard is it to employ someone with even a tiny amount of knowledge regarding best practice of crowd control and safety?

Seriously.

This country is just amateur hour sometimes its not funny anymore.

Or just common sense?

Quite shocked the club didn't foresee the situation. We had enough problems there last year. BTW, did Turner get kicked out for public urination again!

I'm really glad that we moved away from those dodgy seats to the hill. Seriously, having all the drums on those seats... most of the bigger drums couldn't even fit so we asked the security if we could climb over so we can play and they said no. People started to jump, the seats became extremely unsafe for us to stand on that most of the guys in the band were losing their balance as we kept playing. Those seats could of collapsed under the pressure of the crowd, not just from jumping but just for standing on them!! Also, there were heaps of people behind the seating area and couldn't even see the pitch.

Next time, think about the public safety when we pay good money to go in and watch these games. Poor crowd management by the security. and/or stadium in my opinion.

1- Where the RBB were initially was fully f****d.

2- Great move to go to the hill.

3- New chants were off their tits.

4- Moshing on the hill was off its head.

5- Atmosphere was off the rails.

6- Whoever through the bottle must have been off their f*****g face. Stupidest thing to do.

7- RBB reaction to the bottle being thrown was good. Everyone stopping and reminding the thrower how stupid what they just did was a positive.

8- Great match. Great crowd. Great night.
