So the squad that played in korea and landed the day before the game against Newcastle should have backed up again? The potential for injury would have been huge. The way our season has been going, I'd say we were just as likely to lose against the Jets with a full strength side anyway

I disagree with that final point. I am confident that we would have bearen them being at home. We certainly would have had a much better chance than we will on Wednesday.

The amount of games over the month period they play (I.e the likelihood of injuries being caused by over exertion) will end up being no different, but we will end up with zero points instead of three from the two matches. I don't expect them to play every match with the current schedule, but I found Saturday's selection baffling. We gave up on one of the few winnable games we had left.

I agree, if we had put out our best XI minus the injuries we would have won but the selection was based on stopping further injuries rather than not finishing last. Injuries occur not only because of exertion but also the players require a minimum three days rest required between matches to prevent them.

Would you have rathered another 1 or 2 players picked up another injury which would have forced these players to miss ACL games? I'd much rather keep the players fit than continually play them & hope that we don't limp home with even more players injured. Had our injuries not being so bad, you would have seen Spira, Juric, bridge, Cole, santa, hamil, Poljak and Baccus playing but when these players are out essentially we only have our youth to rely on in these circumstances.

It would have been nice not to be last place or finish with the wooden spoon but when you've got no punishment for finishing last & you've got a chance in another competition, the decision makes sense.

Training run draw in preparation for the RBB TOD victory against the Tin Shed Soldiers in Perf. popa has his priorities sorted. I assure you.

Devante Clut - from Western Sydney.

Brisbane trying to be the new Mariners..

It looks like we offered him a youth team deal which he turned down.

He played for Brisbane Youth and was promoted to first team.....

Will the seedlings for the next carrot/potato/cabbage harvest be planted before or after the match? Considering how well the pitch is watered, even growing rice might be an option.

Too wet, seaweed is the only way forward.

Kelp it is then.

He trialled with us in season 1.

IIRC he played in the trial against Spartans

Just imagine Ruka's poor control on a dry, freshly dug and ploughed Parramatta ground. Now compare that to Suncorp's lake. I'd put money on him sprinting with the ball and ending somewhere in the stands.

Ruka's heavy touch may be useful on a waterlogged surface.

I would not be too surprised if we have a "strongish" side tomorrow. I don't think it has anything to do with getting the points its more to keep the guys match fit, they rest them for Perth give them a run against city and have them ready for the ACL on Tuesday.

Our next ACL game isn't for 2 weeks: Tuesday 7th April at home v Seoul

edit:....reading again you basically said that  :ninja:

Don't tell me we will have a mid week where we won't have a match? This is not acceptable :nono:

I wish Tuesday was midweek, because then today we would already be halfway through this working week. :(

'Western Sydney Wanderers coach Tony Popovic will throw his youngsters back on the pitch against Brisbane Roar on Wednesday and is hoping what doesn't kill them makes them stronger.'

Just include Tanaka and Yojiro this time.

Kalmar is Jesus Christ himself so he starts every week

It's gonna be fun when they start playing the match, on a wine-logged pitch!
