Yes it does look like we have no chance, so I think we will make it to the next round.

We have done the impossible countless times before, why not pull one out of our ass again?

It will taste extra sweet now that we really have to earn it!

Pulling things out of our ass and tasting it - never a good choice

You see, this is what makes WSFso ******* great, WSF at it best lol

I remember you showing us a great 2nd leg european knockout comebacks from Middlesborough,

Any last day group stages heroics??

Guangzhou absolutely pumping Shenhua at the moment 3 zip after 40

is that Tim Cahill that they are playing against??

Guangzhou are playing their first team and keeping their reserves for us..

Just want it to be over now. Let the players have a rest. Let the staff go back to the drawing board. Let the owners pry open their purses and let the fans cut their losses and move on to an unperturbed season 4.

Yep. Cahill was subbed off after 17 minutes

Injury?

I've edited original post to read 63 minutes.

He must wear No. 17

He broke he nose

What time does the other game start is it straight after or simultaneous time slot? Were missing a few players from yellow cards but as mentioned they are already through so it depends if they want revenge on us or they put out a weak team giving us a chance.I'm praying to the football gods(Saint Dino of Kresinger) that we get through but won't be to disappointed if we don't.Wander if they will make rude.

Other match kicks off same time. Wouldn't matter anyway though, because we need to win and the other match needs to be a draw. Any other result to that = we're out.

I was aware of the draw factor to progress, I just don't want to watch the draw game after ours hence asking why it is at the same time as I can't handle watching our season start or finish by someone else.

Just got to go out and try and do our bit at GE. Fair chance the other game could end in a draw, but would mean **** all if we can't do our part.

Been in this kind of situation loads of times with Boro on last day promotion and relegation issues. Many the time I have been at the ground with people huddled around radios (days before mobiles lol) listening to what was happening elsewhere. A cheer would go up when something elsewhere went our way and a loud groan the other way and then the tense wait after the final whistle in your game and still playing at the other.

Who knows, a freak last min goal somewhere might see us through... or go out. Odds very much against us, but you just never know. Imagine if we win 1-0 and our game finishes and they are still playing in the other and it is 1-0 either way or still a draw lol

We have to just go for it, no one expects us to go through tonight. What are the odds anyway lol Worth a punt?

Reminder that Bulut, Tanaka and Baccus are suspended. Golec is returning from a suspension.

An interesting fact:

Western Sydney could become the first defending champions to go out at the Group Stage. The AFC Champions League winners from 2003 to 2007 received byes into the Knockout Stage while Gamba Osaka (2008), Pohang Steelers (2009) and Guangzhou Evergrande (2013) reached the last 16, and Seongnam (2010), Al Sadd (2011) and Ulsan Hyundai (2012) did not qualify for the next tournament.

Guangzhou have only scored one goal in their last two ACL games. Defender Liu Jian is suspended after receiving two yellow cards but midfielders Huang Bowen and Zou Zheng are available after serving one-game suspensions.

Some facts about the Kashima v Seoul game:

Kashima are curerntly 10th in the J-League and they lost to Kofu on the weekend 1-0.

Kashima havent lost to a Korean side at home for at least 6 years..

Kashima have the fourth-worst defensive record is the Group Stage with 10 goals conceded. Only Vietnam’s Binh Duong (15), China’s Shandong Luneng (13) and Uzbekistan’s Lokomotiv (12) have allowed more goals.

FC Seoul havent won in the K-League for 3 matches, they had a 1-1 draw against Seongnam on the weekend

They have visited Japan for six previous AFC Champions League matches, winning twice, drawing twice and losing twice. In last year’s tournament, they lost 2-1 to Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the Group Stage but beat Kawasaki Frontale 3-2 in the last 16.

Their 0-0 draw with Guangzhou Evergrande on Matchday Five was their fifth goalless stalemate in their last 10 games in the tournament. They have kept seven clean sheets but failed to score in seven games during that run.

FC Seoul have the equal best defensive record in the ACL having only conceded 2 goals, but they have only scored 2 goals in 5 games themselves.

Defender Kim Jin-kyu is suspended after being booked twice in the Group Stage.

I wont be live tweeting either game tonight  :woah:  my colleagues (who both support victory  :nono: ) will be live tweeting them, so follow the ACL twitter to find out the score of the other game!!!

Hoping for a sneaky 2-1 win from our boys and a dire 0-0 in the other game!!

#COYW  :woah:  :wanderturtle:  :popa:  :acl:

If we win tonight,
I have good faith that we will go through,

Kashima and Seoul both can't afford to loose their game, whilst one of them benefits from a draw, they both can't afford to loose and run the risk of us loosing.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was a tense 0-0 draw between them,
only problem with my plan is that we have to win...
