Covic,

Cole Spira Hamill Golec.

La Rocca, Trifiro,

Ruka, Saba, Haliti

Juric.

Saba not travel bro.

I went off the squad lists on the A-League website and didn't read the earlier posts.

Fofanah or Sotirio to start as the #10 then.

Are Juric and Spiranovic available for the games on 1st and 6th?

If they aren't then give them the full 90 tomorrow to get their value's worth out of them before they leave

**** me, so who the hell is available???

this is like all age mens football in the park at 9am on a sunday morning trying to work out if your going to have a full team or not.

Wait till you start playing O'35 after a few games you'll be lucky to have 11 players show up and half of them will be injured

Lineup

Covic

Alessi-Spira-Hamil-Adeleke

La Rocca-Perkatis

Ruka-Trifiro-Sotirio

Juric

The centre defence choice will be interesting (LCB with a RCB or the best two CB's), the midfield three will be interesting (can see La Rocca being first choice but who are the other two) and who he goes to partner Juric upfront.

if there is no fofanah or saba then bridge would have travelled for sure unless trif is slotted in as #10? but then who would be in the mids,  may be hamil la rocca combo or even spira la rocca combo

Bridge got injured in morocco, doubt he'll he risked

Doesn't look like we have any soddin' players left. Reckon popa is going to slot himself in alongside The Hammer and move Spira into midfield..!

I hope the boys prove me wrong but I think we will really struggle today.

The key problems we have:

* leaking goals. Bigger picture when we lost Beuchamp we started to concede more goals defensively. Not convinced by Mullen. Popa brought in Spira because he wanted to move to a more attacjing ball playing style of play but we lost something defensively.

* our mids - now at times we only really have Poljak and La Rocca in the mids. Saba is too far forward and Spira too far back leaving our mids overwhelmed. Last season we had Shinji, Poljak, Mooy, La Rocca as mids.

* attack - the problem with Ruka to date as a player is consistency. This is partially why he never cracked Europe. He needs to start banging them in. Castelan has to stop this roving role and stay on the wing to give us width. Saba (not playing I know) needs to be deeper and chase back.

* Bridge - look we all have our opinions on him but we seem to play better with him. Even if he is not having the best game on the ball. Things just seem to work better. He does alot of chasing back and work off the ball to create space.

That isn't true.

Earlier in the year I did a comparison between Beauchamp & Spira, A-League matches only, including both finals matches.

They only played two games together, rounds 16 & 17. Spira played in midfield in both games while Beauchamp paired with NTS in defence. MB started with the first four matches, got dropped for the next 3, then was used sporadically until a 3 match stint rds 15-16-17, then a few appearances here and there, until the ACL where he played all but the first match of the group stage. Neither made many subs appearances, I think Spira made one only, Beauchamp none.

Every match of the A-League season one or the other played.

Topor missed 1 game, Adelaide in Round 15. IIRC Heffernan stepped into the CB role.

Beauchamp played 13 games, WSW getting 4 wins, 4 losses & 5 draws. WSW conceded 18 goals in those matches.

Spiranovic played 18 games, WSW getting 10 wins, 3 losses & 5 draws. WSW conceded 16 goals in those matches.

So what you're saying is the only areas we have problems are the defense, the midfield and up front. Thank **** for Covic...

Yep so apart from defence, midfield and up front we have nothing to worry about ;)

So

Covic

Alessi hamill spira Golec

Perkatis la rocca

Cole haliti ruka

Juric

I'd say so. Haliti and Ruka might swap. Perkatis finally gets another chance!

Mack I am taking about season 1 compared to season 2. We started to leak more goals and for the first time conceded more then 3 goals a game (on several occasions) in Season 2 when Popa began tinkering with defence and Spira came into the fold.

Dont get me wrong for me Popa is God and I totally get his reasoning for wanting a more ball playing side.

Ps and yes football just isnt about isolated areas ie defence, attack and mid.

All areas are linked in the team dynamic so it follows our problems in attack will have flow on affects to the rest of the structure and vica versa.
