I was thinking he was bad luck but the only game he missed we lost against Roar so maybe he's not.

My 3 month old has been on every game bar 1 since he was born. It can get a little hard work, especially if there's no spare seat next to you but he loves it now. Maybe just the people and colours, not the actual football. That's been crap.

Bit off topic but does anyone ever take babies to games ? I've got a little 5 month old and want take my partner and the little guy to a game . I have little ear muffs for him so it's not to loud just wondering if anyone has ever seen people with babies at games or if it just doesn't happen ..

Does he have any tips on how we can scrounge our first win? No one else seems to know.

Crowds of 14,000 are nothing to be proud of, no matter the circumstances.

To think that less than 70% of our paid up members can be bothered turning up to support our team, is extremely disappointing.

Yea I know what you are saying but compared to our other 2 New Years Day games it was quite good.  First season we got 13K when we played Wellington and last season it was 13500 vs Victory when we were flying, so comparatively not to bad.

I'm with you on this one.
I call bullshit on the 14,000. There were easily 16,000 there and I am going off eels games I have been to where the crowd has been packed to the rafters, yet they have called 18,000?? Maybe certain turnstiles arent counting the crowd. There may have been 4000 empty seats spread around the ground on Thursday. Still on a very hot New Years day and stuck in last spot, 14-16k fans turned up to watch a game on a Thursday night. Not a bad effort.

People are also on holidays.

will see what happens. Seriously, the coach usually is in the firing line if there are no results.

Who is that man in your av?

How ironic.

Ironic seeing as Ferguson's first year in charge was so bad he nearly got the sack, crazy to think that Man Utd's dynasty reign could have ended if the hierarchy/owners hadn't believed in the quality of the coach through the fog of a patch of poor results.

The following NYL players could play a role in our squad for Tuesday night - Alessi, Fofannah, Perkatis, Sotirio & Kuze.

If you're good enough - you're old enough!

Aren't all bar Kuze signed to the senior squad in some capacity anyway?

The point he was trying to make is that they didn't play a role at all in today's NYL match meaning they will most likely play a role against Victory

Correct, but they've rarely been called upon until recent weeks.

Popa may have just drafted a couple of them in as cover for weary legs.

The last thing we need is further injuries prior to the Asian Cup break.

Tom Hewlett - Bell (Res GK) was another notable absentee from the NYL game today

According to insta it was Kuzi's 18th birthday yesterday, likely why he wasn't in the squad today.

Secretly hoping it was a coincidence and he will be on the bench on Tuesday :)

Compared to other sporting codes in sydney, it's very good. But Australians in general have bad sport attendances. Sport is in our culture, but the people don't get out to games as much as they do in countries like America, and even european/south american countries which have a poorer economy.

It seems like we only see sell out stadiums when it's a final of some sort.

And the point I was trying to make is that we already know Popa thinks four of the five on that list are good enough :P

Interesting news about Kuze though. One to watch no doubt.

Have been taking our now 18mth old since he was born and our 6 year old since season 1. Never have a problem. The only limiting factor is the weather (terrace seats). When the 18 mth old was even smaller he'd sleep all game, now he watches the RBB and claps along.

Noise was never an issue in the terrace, not sure what its like at the back of the stands though (echoes?)

The 6 yo has now also learnt the concept of 'football language'.

The only issue is finding the change rooms open, we normally take him to the back of the south end hill to change because its quicker than trying to find the key for the 'parents room' (oh and small prams fit under the seats if you need to walk a bit to the game, not those monster truck things, just the strollers)

And you are thinking that they'd given him the day off to recover from his party?

Apologies, completely missed your point initially  I guess unless the players were going to be used for senior games, I'd much rather them playing NYL!

Agree with Pryd.

I think if your following the NYL thread you would more understand Taurus post a little better also.

I appreciated his posts on a personal level, being a massive fan of our youth squad.

So if they didn't get a first team run I miss them not in the youth squad.

Play Sotirio and Ruka as our wingers in this match. Bridge up front, Saba (not gonna happen) or Fofanah at AMC. Kalmar and La Rocca in midfield.

Cant wait for this one.

On paper we should be no chance but the Victards aren't exactly on fire at the moment. We have the back 4 that can stifle their front 3 the obvious question is where will our goals come from.

Looking forward to a biggish crowd, if Thursdays was 14 thousand i reckon 16 plus easy tomorrow

and remember...these colours unite us all

It's a week day (even though it is school holidays), so I do not think we'll get more than 15k.

On paper we were no chance for all the ACL games and we won it. This game should be played as a derby or a cup tie.

As long as we are united behind our team I am sure I'm sure it will be enough to lift the team and get the first win.
