If santa keeps scoring in the last 15, im happy to leave him on the bench until 65-70 minutes.

A little trip down memory lane, featuring our first ever a-league goal, win, and a future legend...

still remember watching mooy's shot hit the right post,  fly behind the keeper, hit the left post and come out.  We were still scoreless in the league at that point and I thought we were destined to stay that way

Same here, after Mooy's shot I thought we were destined to have a miserable season

predicting a draw for this game.

if we do win this game then we should finish top 2.

2 horse race with Adelaide imo. The game against Adelaide in a couple weeks could be the decider for the Plate.

glad its a home.  (only having 2/6 at home is a worry though, although we can make the Newcastle game more like a home game)

Agree. A month ago I thought this was probably going to be the pivotal match for the Plate.

Now I think if we win this, it will knock Brisbane out of contention and only Adelaide will have a shot at going past us.

I'm getting a sense of déjà vu, namely CCM at Gosford Season 1.

Just had a look at the fixtures of Adelaide and Brisbane. Both will be playing with the 2 plastic sides in the last 2 games.

Can esfc help us win the plate? It will be funny if they did.

All important games from here on out.

If we beat Brisbane this week and Adelaide two weeks after, we can pretty much have one hand on it...

By it, I mean the Premiers Plate. Not sure about the other hand though.

Well if we have one hand on the Premiers plate then I can't see why not....  :ninja:  :woah:  :woah:  :woah:

Let's win the plate v Adelaide at home  :xbop:

I was about to rebuff my own post and say it isn't mathematically possible. It actually is...

We're only 2 points ahead. We play them in 3 weeks, meaning maximum 6 points available. (v Brisbane and Jets)

That's 8 points ahead if Adelaide lose the next 2 games.

Beat them, thats 11 points ahead with only 3 games left.

Can't see it happening unfortunately. (they play Nix away and City at home before us)

The way things are going, the away trip to Wellington may actually be damn important if we don't sew it up the week earlier v CCM.

Edit: obviously this still depends on Brisbane and the rest dropping points

Bet you any money the mother of all storms rolls through. It wouldn't be a true Wanderers game if it didn't :P

Being a bit selfish... But seeing it's my first away game trip to Melb, I'm hoping we wrap it up there...we can also celebrate the week after at home.

But tbh I don't care if it's at the NIx as long as we get it.

For those who are going to be in Brisbane. The pub that looked after us on Grand Final Day are more than happy to have us back. Got this email from the boss.

We would be more than happy for WSW fans to come up again.

I will do some black and red balloons for you and give you an area at the end of the saloon bar closest to the stadium.

Just so you know we have happy hour between 4-6pm. Includes schooners and basic spirits for $5.

Same. We absolutely smashed them in that game as well, until the end.

The pressure is definitely on them and they will be working on solving problems this week rather than just working out how to beat us.

While Popa's plan has been disrupted this season from time to time, aside from the Wellington aberration, we haven't been consistently unlocked or broken down. We've been frustrated, not taken chances, but rarely overrun.

Must win game for Roar but not for us. Draw in Brisbane, Melbourne, at home against ADE, win against Jets, CCM, Nix. 50 points = the title.

Your calculations comfort me in these dark times of uncertainty

Key is to not lose in Brisbane at home against Adelaide. The rest will sort itself out.

I just hope we try someone else other then Sotirio for this game. Give someone else an oportunity, even if its off the bench. Matt Sim even ffs.

Interesting to see how we cope without Topor. Hes got lots of haters but hes a leader.

I think the other way - beat Brissy and Adelaide and we're home. Especially Adelaide. If we draw against them then they've only got to get a win when we get a draw and they're on top. We need to end their run ourselves.

As an aside, how many top of the table clashes have we had this year? Seems like heaps but I think the post-boycott Victory game and the recent home City games were 1 v 2, and the Brisbane games have both been 1 v 3??
