I love how this went from a "Pre Match" thread, to a "Weather Report" thread.

Old mate Tim Bailey has us covered,

Who remembers that apocalyptic storm last season when we played city at home

Fed to be struck by lightning and bag a hat trick

The storm so apocalyptic that it I missed the mid-weekgame because repeated strikes of lightning shut down the western line? My 9 yo and I were sitting at Sevo station when lightning struck the roof of the car park. FMD that noise was loud and that light was bright. He was shaking so much after that I took him home rather than push on to Parramatta.

If my memory is correct, I was drenched getting to the stadium. I snuck into the posh seats to stay undercover from the monsoon. Wasn't too effective as we sat near the edge and the rain was horizontal.

Kickoff was delayed (by 30 minutes?) as the officials waited for the monsoon to pass and the water on the field to drain away.

That match is the reason why I requested to move to undercover seats this year. Doesn't help with the walk to and from the stadium tho haha.

A storm on Sunday will be a relative piece of cake. Bring it on. Hoping for our first win!

For some reason tickets are selling very slowly in the east stand.  About 20 so far today.

I sit in the east stand and dint realise you could get tickets - i thought it was for members only and some slackers didn't turn up each week. I might look at getting tickets for my grand kids - that'll get the planes going again at least!

...which makes me think why are my seats so shite?...

Not many out there are tipping us to win.

If we lose will people accept there's a problem or will it be a case of 'next week we're good' etc etc ?

No it'll be another week of our season starts here, which is fine by me

win or lose

There are about 3 bays at the southern end of the eastern stand/terrace that go on sale each game plus the away corner bay and GA tickets in the southern terrace.

If we play like **** & concede **** goals well it will be difficult to see progression from the first few weeks but from what we've seen it looks to be getting better with every game.

What about if we play like we did last weekend, dominate & then concede a goal with only allowing 2 shots on target?

Mine has been on there for 2 days and hasn't sold.  It took 2 hours to sell for the first game.  I might not get my points for 3.5 stickers this week.

We need a win and the occasional match goers will start coming back.

I sometimes feel that people don't really understand what this means. It refers to you showing up each week and supporting your side regardless of result, not standing by and accepting mediocrity or being fine whether you win or lose. I'm not saying that is what you are saying but I've seen numerous times people quote this when someone makes a post condemning the side or Popa.

My personal thoughts regarding this match. Only thing that matters is a result. Its 4 out of 30 now, couldn't care less about 'performances' or 'time to gel'. Win any way possible. I'll take a terrible performance resulting in a win.

need him as in impact, think last week was forced to come on earlier than what Popa would of expected. Only change would be bridge replacing castellen and maybe vido coming on in the 2nd half. Who will get the go ahead will it be Santa and Pio, or satirio and Pio and Sant to replace one of them later on?

Santa has been out for soooooooooooo long, I would expect him to start from the bench for 2 or 3 weeks at least. But who knows with Popa, wouldn't be surprised to see him in the first 11.

Looking forward to seeing Santa's hustle and bustle around the box again. It is what Santa does off the ball that is as good as his goals, he gives defenders a hard time.

:smurfnono: did you wake up on the glass half empty side of the bed? Positive Prydz, be positive

I'm just being honest mate, I won't be happy if we play **** & we let him sloppy goals but I don't think will happen based on the last three games. If that happens we have to ask why (bad performance, played ****, mistakes etc) but based on the last three weeks it's only a matter of time before we turn things around

Any info on a march?

There is the W-League match at 2pm so I guess we will be at the match instead of marching

Really? I don't think anyone is happy with losing or anyone has accepted mediocrity. In fact what has been mediocre about the last 3 weeks? The only thing that has been missing is us being one goal more than the other team.

I think anyone will take 3 points no matter how we play this weekend but I don't think we should be abandoning our style because we can't put the ball in the back of the net. If we just want results, let's just go back to S1 & play hoofball (route 1) to dino. That's not the answer.

A few things on the above:

- Now we know why popa has been careful with Dario, I think we will see him around the 50-60 minute on Sunday

- Same with Santa, I think he might get the last 10-20 minutes depending on how Pio is going (fingers crossed he scores 2 & popa can sub him at 80 minutes to big applause to pump up his confidence!

Out for this match won't be able to make it to AAMI park by 5 pm. :nono:

I was looking at Brisbane vs Adelaide at Allianz, think wtf :nono:

******* amateur hour!

^^^ maybe don't sub him around the 80th/81st minute. He'll think we're turning our back on him

I think he knows what happens in the 80th minute by now!!

The amount of times these newspapers get things wrong... please! Can't be that useless.... oh wait.

I'd be keen to know whether they get stuff wrong for other codes or is it just special treatment for football :unknw:

Western Sydney Wanderers striker Brendon Santalab looking for immediate impact upon return

Quote ""Pio has been grinding away and I hope he can score this week and I hope I can come on in the last 20 or 30 minutes and do what I do."

"Our fans are the best in the A-League and we want to win for them, especially this Sunday. We disappointed them last week in the derby and we want to make up for that this week."

I'm kind of hoping that this season will be similar to what we had in our inaugural season which is a few losses in the first three rounds and then gradually starting having some wins and draws.

I think this game will be redemption for us after not only having the controversial loss last week against East Sydney FC but also the controversial loss in the FFA cup against Perth Glory.

I'm looking at a 2-1 victory for the Wanderers this weekend and hopefully this will start our winning form.
