With Champs league I can't see us climbing the ladder much. Gonna have to slide in 6th and hope to win away in the finals, then knock Sydney off. So I hope that we have one eye on next week, that's when we need the result.

Spotted: Josep Gombau and his missus at El Jannah Granville

Popa thanks for the memories, but it's time to say goodbye???

An already tired team is going to have to play in mid 30 degree temps against a team firing on all cylinders, let's hope they have an off day and Martinez plays like he did last time we went there.

1-1

Won't be surprised if Nico doesn't play

We will be playing Perth with their standard 4-4-2 formation.

Marinkovic has been named but came off with injury

Keogh missed last game with hamstring soreness but also has been named.

Even Marc Warren in in their squad.

To have any chance of winning, Castro has to be tamed just like Ninkovic.

Baccus currently reported as out of the squad due to suspension (fake news I reckon)

So the likely starting line-up imo

.....................................Viper

Neville/Baccus Jnr...Cornthwaite...Aspro......Clisby/Bandiera

......................Dimas..............Antonis

Cole?.........................Nichols...................Sotorio

..................................Santa

Bench: Pinatares, Nico, Jumpei, Tyson, Hamill

Hope for more time from Shannon now that he's got on the field.

Jumpei and Nico need to start on the bench after Tuesday.

I'm assuming that the flip side to Tuesdays debacle is that we have a full strength team for this game. It makes sense that Nico might get a rest though - not sure he's been at his best for the last 2 games

While its not the our season starts here game it could be our season defining game. We need to back up from the smurfs game and make a statement, put some fear into other teams, get the crowds back.

3-1 our way (he says with no conviction what so ever)

We are not going to finish higher than 5th I wouldn't have thought. To make any impact this season in the finals it will be on the road, this to me is a good test.

and 6th would be better than 5th.  Rather play Brisbane away than Citeh...  (I think they will finish 3 & 4 respectively)

We can finish 3rd if

1. We win a majority of games against Perth, Adelaide, Nix, Vi$ion, Jets, Vics, Adel

2. Vi$ion form slacks off

3. Roars injuries continue

4. Perth forms dips.

Roar have the easiest run home of the current top 6 but have ACL as well.

Perth have hardest run home playing every top 6 side except Roar.

Vi$ion face the smurfs twice plus have 4 away games

You guys are mad. I'm usually pretty positive about our chances but at some point we have to face reality. The only way we come anywhere near a home final is win this weekend and sacrifice ACL. I doubt Popa does that so we're gonna have to win away from home in finals. It'll be much easier to tough out a couple of away draws/wins in finals than play well in 7 more games plus ACL.

Bris/City/Perth away in finals I doubt it matters. Bris and Perth are much tougher away and City still have that decent squad despite going off the boil.

I'd be happy with a draw this weekend if it meant a strong performance on Tuesday.

It appears WST are taking a delegation to this game which is interesting since they basically led the RBB TOD there before the split. Seems their own internal differences center around a push they be more active game time. Wonder how they are angling around the present issues with the RBB and whether they aim to become the central Active force. Anyways thought I'd have a spray before everyone starts carrying on about football again.

If Sydney beat Victory next week they will have practically won the premiership. It wouldn't then be a great surprise to see them conveniently lose the odd game here and there to clubs vying with us for finals spots. Sydney's run in consists of Mariners, Glory, City, Phoenix and Jets. There could be some juicy Sportsbet odds in some of those games.
