Newcastle - Friday and Sunday night

Mariners - Sunday night

Victory - Monday night and Easter weekend

I used to think people were getting too tin foil hat with their theories that the FFA didn’t want WSW fans travelling.

Geez it’s hard to deny it though when you look at some of this scheduling...

NYL GF in Newcastle the day before should be more than enough evidence

You guys clearly have not understood the importance of growing the game, and making it mainstream. Foxtel will broadcast, not one, not two, but THREE games back to back. How good is that???

https://www.wswanderersfc.com.au/news/foxtel-y-league-2018-grand-final-kick-unique-triple-header-matchday

Isn't that exciting?? You can rock up just after lunch, get ready for the show - uhm, I mean the first game - kicking off at 2pm, and head back home once the show - dreads, I mean the last game finishes at 10pm.

Just imagine how many hot dogs you and your family can consume. You can send your kids to do some jumping castle activities, and while your bum goes numb you can have one beer after the other.

That's as good as cricket. Well, maybe not quite as good, but FFA clearly have a bold plan for football in this country, and we'll breeze past the other codes once the minor technicality of FIFA coming to town has been sorted in February.

I’m still trying to work out the rationale behind that.

To me it would’ve made perfect sense to give the Y league some promotion by playing it at a small suburban ground in either Western Sydney or Melbourne. Given that both clubs are away in the aleague it would’ve given fans a chance to still watch their team over the weekend locally and in the process get a decent crowd.

But no it made too much sense...

*If you haven't bought your tickets yet*

If you're planning on buying 2 or more tickets. Best to buy a family pass (2A 2J) for $40 rather than buying them individually. An adult ticket costs $35 each.

Use 'CCM1718' for 15% off single tickets.

Let me guess how much an adult away ticket costs when Glory or Nix come to town. 20 bucks??

Even with the family Ticket for $40 still less than 500 tickets sold in the away sections, looking pretty grim again like last time in terms of numbers travelling . Question to those in the know .....lat time we played Mariners away, we rocked up to the settlers tavern before the game , noticed and expected smaller numbers of WSW fans , however still expected some kind of march from tavern to stadium as is the tradition up that dreaded hill... but no. When Tavern emptied the  much reduced numbers of travelling fans  were escorted down the main road by the police  straight into the stadium, deadly silent all the way not a peep from anybody.

Was this due to reduced number of Travelling Fans and WSW/RBB  just couldn't be bothered ?

A police Directive ie  no march allowed ?

TBH was depressing  really, used to be one of the highlights of the CCM day out !!

Can we expect the same this Sunday or will the traditional march be back ?? even with reduced numbers...

Probably out. Working that night and have oral surgery in the morning. Not sure I can be arsed to make the trip before all that just to watch the latest episode of VARgate.

Stay home and spend the money on the next home game, money for our club.

Sadly I've already committed financially to the rest of our home games this season. And will do so for the next, cos I'm an idiot.

This will be interesting - 2 poor teams one of which has a clear approach and actively tries to get the players to play that way and then there's us. If they had a decent striker they'd be well up the table. Of course they now have Blake Powel so are guaranteed at least one goal against us.

Looking forward to it - its better than a home game at the moment this one.

Apparently the new Socceroos coach will be going, presumably with the whole of the FFA.

Pity Peter Green is the central referee.

AdelaideWanderer flew here for the Victory game with a new member recruit then flew west for our Glory game and Sunday flies east again for Gosford. If anyone here begrudges the ninety minute drive to CCM reflect on the above. We will lose but that's okay because expectations are pre meditated resentments.
