I think the boys were just a bit flat after hearing about NRMA Insurance leaving the club.

We just need a new sponsor like this company: http://www.sydfireworks.com.au :diablo:

Too late, we've already considered them earlier tonight.

It's his job to get them to perform. Doesn't look to me that he is achieving that. Despite the players flaws he should be able to elicit a much better performance than tonight which is far from a one off under his reign.

I'm curious as to what you think Gombau could do to get them to perform? He has defenders who can't defend, midfielders who can't pass, wingers & fullbacks who can't get a shot or cross on target. His team just went an entire game without a shot on target. Not long ago, they were a man up against an outfield in goal and couldn't put a shot on target in 5 minutes.

4-5-1, park the bus and hope pumping long balls to Riera will somehow get goals?

3-4-3 and hope to congest the midfield but still find space in the middle, or find width to cross while not having fullbacks to keep pressure off the wingers? And hope that 3 defenders instead of 4 is better at defending?

Go to a flat 4-4-2 which is practically obsolete at this level and hope that Santalab & Riera can find a way to work together, while having a 2 man midfield in a team where the existing 3 men midfield formations are getting torn apart?

5-4-1 and play even more defensively with again, only a two man central midfield?

What I'm getting at is that the various things Gombau can do, all require players who aren't garbage. He could try all sorts of changes but when you have midfielders who can't pass and defenders who can't defend and wingers who can't shoot he's in a position where little change can happen.

...........or from last season......this isn;t a one off....two seasons of crap recruitment and the current manager cops the crap..

This is worse than anything that has gone before. Gombau is the current manager with the current responsibility.

No...We played this way last season as well. We got our bums smacked in the ACL....that was way worse than this.

I think you should!

But Webjet isn't their sponsor any more.

Our 2 ACL games last season against Urawa & one of the games vs Shanghai were atrocious. We had 4 put past us inside 30 minutes in one of them.

Yes, this. New cattle required. Old ones need to be put out to pasture. At Gosford or over in NZ.

It's  obviously all a matter of perception. I've looked listened and formed opinions. ACL? I know we were bad last time, I'm sure we'd be worse this time.

I'm usually less critical than others and often take the view there wasn't all that much of a difference between my team's performance and the opposition despite losing. But not tonight.

I don't  like what's happened/happening to us. But I'll be there again in two weeks and I'll be back next season.

I know, I was there for the home games and watched the others. I still think we'd suffer more now.

Hey Mack

Noone would blame you if you didn't bother writing your review of the game/ starting a post game thread after that game.

Just saying.

I'm already halfway through anger-typing it.

The best thing about being a Wanderers supporter these days is having the people here to share the frustration/ disappointment/ current misery with. ;)

Oh dear.

:grouphug:

Hopefully you're benefiting from venting.

Otherwise... you could have just said "We were s*it"...and no-one would have objected.

Can't wait for annual clean out and get rid of some of these prideless frauds farkin useless bunch of donkeys anyway who else herd the rumour from Simon hill about that Jordy bujuis guy heading to WSW next season, I'd use player like him right now from the way we have been playing.

But he has a bad haircut and he's kinda soiled because he played for the smurfs. I think Marc Warren is a better buy right now.
