Up s*** creek with match officials

Referee: Chris Beath

Assistant Referee 1: Andrew Lindsay

Assistant Referee 2: Daniel Ilievski

Fourth Official: Jonathan Barreiro

VAR: Kris Griffiths-Jones

Beath refereeing means it's already confirmed we won't win. Let's see if he'll let us steal a point or find a reason to chalk off our goals and give vuck a dodgy goal without referring to VAR.

Our position on the table isn't a lie. The positive I can see is that Victory's defence hasn't been rock solid, it's their weakest point imo. They've only kept a single clean sheet. Of course, they've won three on the trot now.

We're having trouble finishing, if we can correct that we have a chance. Ziggler needs to play, because I can't see another game with Elrich in the middle resulting in a win against Honda & co. Our record against Victory is abysmal. We haven't beaten them since December 2015.

Too much energy going into slagging the officials. Yes they're as useful as windscreen wipers on a submarine BUT the match is always there for the taking.

If we capitalise on all the chances we create then the officiating is irrelevant.

Football is simple. Score more than the opposition ... 3 pts.

We have to start getting results from the good play we have been producing. Draws or losses won't cut it if we want to be at the pointy end of procedinngs at seasons end.We need goals and stop them from getting any.

We have shown we can play some cracking football....time to produce for 90min. 1-0 WSW.

We have seen ABJ being kicked all over the park as our AM, think we need to share the yellows round and give Honda a torrid time, not condoning thuggery here, just be cute with the blocking, tackling and jockeying, put him under pressure.

Thing is. MV have been screwed by refs and VAR all season too. So it should all cancel each other out lol

If the WSW from our trip to NZ rocks up( ok so Nix shyte compared to Vic, but sill) along with a bit more composure up front and be clinical then we can get something from this game.

I am not confident but this could be a surprise result for us....Risdon just needs to carry on where he left off with his awesome wasted crosses...

We haven't beaten MV in Melbourne since Feb 2013 ffs.

The day "These Colours Unite Us All" debuted. The day we took over and packed the corner with thousands of fans. The day it was hot as hell and Beer Deluxe wouldn't let anyone back in after the game.

Season 1 ffs.

Can we call this game the Bundesliga derby with ABJ, Ziegler and Babbel with Neidemeyer?

Plus Neidemeyer played for Babbel in the BL

last night at the end of the adl V roar fireworks Foxtel put the pre game for (our game tonight) calling it the leagues 2 biggest clubs

the esfc anger would have been through the roof

That was my thought too! :D

Except our 15,000 to their 25,000 makes us look like their little brother.

Barbarouses always scores against us so if La Rocca could upend him that'd be great.

Elrich had an excellent game at LB in the preseason game in Ballarat. He kept Barbarouses very quiet. If he is LB again, replicates that performance and Aussie Pat plays, we’ll have half a chance of getting something from the game.

Which side will fall to the most incompetent decisions by the referee, let’s be honest, it will be a tight contest

Will this week be the one where we are not as wasteful in front of goal. Translate good play into goals... I’m hopeful that it will come good soon.

Making top 6 is easy, put a few wins together at the end of the season. Easy.

Victory team is in. Troisi and Neidermeir are out. Their defence and bench looks weak. Obviously, their attack is still very strong with Honda, Antonis, Barbarouses & Toivonen.

happy mojak is starting cause out of everyone he looked like the biggest threat, still expecting a 3-0 loss though hopefully a 3-1 though

WSW unchanged starting lineup from last week.

Vedran, Risdon, Elrich (CB I assume), Hamill, Llorente, Baccus, O'Doherty, Baumjohann, Majok, Riera, Kamau.

Bench is Nizic, Fitzy, Tass, Sotirio & Tokich.

Presumably Ziggy wasn't fit enough.
