The Roar came back strongly, equalising in the 20th minute as ex-Wanderer Scott Neville was given a free header from a corner that he buried to make it 1-1. The Roar scored the winner after an hour, Brad Inman working a 1-2 pass with Muratovic before firing a powerful low drive into the far bottom corner to pick up the winner.

This won't be as easy as some people think, none of our games are anyway. First off we will have a brand new midfield with maybe only a couple a of training session together. A short turn around having played last Friday. As well as having played in temperatures in the mid to high 30's.

I think I'd start with this line up.

              Duke      Adam      Muller

             Ziegler   Meier      Sullivan

Georgievski    Jurman      McGowan     Elrich

                      Lopar

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the correct form of address in Fowler's home region is 'Cock'

Looks like the Babbel Sackwatch thread has carried over here morphing into Wishful Thinking. We will continue to turn the corner and hold our place in top six. Nothing spectacular. Just plod plod

Hold?

we currently are not top six... haven’t been for 3 weeks.

We will continue to sniff the stinky under carriage of those team just mediocre enough to languish at the bottom of the top 6

Bravo - UTH replaces Manfred as our resident wordsmith! :D :D

Aldred came off early last game so may not play.

I have read that Akbari whilst named may be injured.

I'm expecting Muller to run at Bowles with Bowles to pick up at least a yellow.

Interesting stats

Crosses WSW 157:BR 200 (mostly O'Shea)

Shots WSW 106:BR 106 (acc 43%:40%)

If the team can make o'shea irrelevant, the Pussycats main creative force is removed.

Trouble with this is that whilst most teams focus on crossing, I suspect most goals don't come through crosses from out wide.  Cut backs from the byline in the penalty box or through the middle seem to be the main successful routes to goal.  In our ACL (which incidentally made #2 on Simon Hill's 10 moments of the decade - behind Asian Cup win), we were able to shut out crosses from wide and even preferred teams to play wide and cross.  I think I am happy with Roar crossing from out wide and us defending strongly with Lopar controlling the show - keep them wide.

Early crosses that cut across the area and make life difficult for defenders perhaps but most teams run deep and try to cut across or cut it back a bit.  The defense outnumbers attackers and is set to defend.  SFC's stuff comes a lot from in close and running through the centre or close cut backs within the area.  That is something of the difference between the better attacking teams and the rest.

Loving all the negativity here, for those who want to roast Babbell for his lack of tactical knowledge fair enough but at the same time give him credit for making the changes that won the game for us last week. Bringing on Elrich was risky with their pace but he killed it, effectively won the game for us, Sullivan same, same as those that say well lucky we have Lopar, well who the **** do you think brought him down here??  but anyway to things at hand, Brisbane are woeful, they will hold posession for the majority of the game but create nothing and we will win 2-0.

Yeah FINALLY  got it right, He's been here since May 2018 - maybe just a slow learner ?

Or coincides with his new reported hands on approach to running the team training instead of leaving it to JP.

Will Jordan O'Doherty get on the pitch today? If he does off the bench.

Why isn't Monge in the Squad?

I'm in Canberra for work this week.

Is there a WSW Canberra supporter group that meet somewhere to watch the games?

How is Arnie ******* us over? Keanu has literally been selected to represent his country in a very important tournament. He'll be an important piece for the Olyroos as well

He could have let him go to the game late.

I thought early on it was said if the young players were main stays in their respective teams he wouldn't take them.

Is an important few games coming up for the young guys though so that may take precedence.
