More fallout to come.

It appears some of our so-called fans caused a disturbance during the 2nd half, resulting in the game being stopped for 5 mins. The 12 point suspended penalty (48 CC points) is now likely to be enacted, so it's season over for our NPL2 lads.

And some peeps wonder why the club plays trial games behind closed doors. :shok:

Something was lit behind the goals at one end & rocks were thrown at the Mounties players.

Real mature behaviour.

I think the club should send out a strongly worded email to all members, alerting them and our sponsors to the fact that it happened. That will also allow the MSM to pick up on it and create more bad headlines for the club.

By no means have a go at the ****wits who create this mess but tarnish the club for a poorly worded email who have considerations on all sides. Good call.

I've had messages from 2 separate eye witnesses, who suggest the game was stopped after missiles were thrown at Mounties players.

The games at VSP are videoed by multiple sources, so vision of the incident will be easy for the clubs / Football NSW to locate.

Whatever the reason for the incident, it can't be defended.

NPL Wrap: Wanderers suffer loss against Mounties

Monday, 21 August 2017 -

The Western Sydney Wanderers have been unable to repeat Thursday's heroics at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday, losing 5-0 to Mounties.

A hat trick from Mounties striker Tai Smith, as well as goals from Tomislav Mijic and Nathan Sansom, handed the Red & Black their heaviest loss of the NPL 2 season.

Mounties opened the scoring after winning a penalty in the seventh minute.

Despite Wanderers goalkeeper Mackenzie Syron diving the right way, Smith was still able to convert the spot kick.

Just before the half hour mark Mounties doubled their lead with Smith scoring again after he managed to slot the ball past Syron and a defender on the goal-line.

A few minutes later, Mounties made it 3-0 after Mijic scored with a header.

The Red & Black pushed to get back into the game and Mathieu Cordier played a dangerous ball into the box to Emmanuel Gonzalez who was inches away from getting a touch.

A neat passing move at the start of the second half set up a chance for Matthew Lecce but the Mounties defence were able to block the shot.

At the other end, Syron was called into action, making two sharp saves in the space of a minute.

Just before the hour mark Kyle Cimenti almost pulled a goal back when he beat the keeper to a corner kick, but his header flashed over the crossbar.

In the dying minutes of the match, Mounties' Smith completed his hat trick with a shot from the edge of the box, before Nathan Sansom added another goal in second half stoppage time.

The Wanderers continued to push to get on the scoresheet with Tate Russell creating a good chance after getting behind Mounties defence but his shot was saved.

The result means that the Red & Black now drop to fourth on the NPL 2 ladder with one round remaining before the finals. This Sunday, the Wanderers travel to Northbridge Oval to play North Shore Mariners. Kickoff is at 3pm.

Believe what you wish.

I find it unlikely that if no disturbance occurred, the referee would find it necessary to play so much added time. WSW player Tariq Maia was booked in the 9th minute of added time.

Could be a disturbance. Could be a swooping magpie. Thing is I don't know and neither do you.

Chillax friend.

Making a smartarse remark about the club does not mean I condone the actions if they occurred.

I would say, however, that the club officials are paid to look after the brand and image of the club, and to understand their supporter base, and have been wanting on a number of occasions.

The issue here is that it was an away game at Valentine Park which seems strange for Mounties game.

The NPL2 club championship published for this week has WSW in second by 1 point. Currently, based on the usual practice, Marconi is promoted to NPL1.

However, Taurus pasted a while ago that 2 NPL2 may be promoted to NPL1 so any deduction will keep the WSW NPL guys in NPL2.

Yeah my apologies mate - I missed the sarcasm in a flash of a heated moment.

Fmd talk about turning a fly into a bear , apparently a rock (zappo) was thrown and a massive ring of fire was lit ( a few leaves on fire)

One rock was thrown and that meant the game was abandoned? Zappos? The shoes or the lollies?

Can you explain to me how a ring of fire was started?

This is the issue Banana, the relationship between the RBB & club broke down after Tifogate. From all accounts, it appears the relationship is on the mend after the members forum. How do you think something like this is going to be viewed by the club?

The club operate in a hostile environment and the focus on the RBB is intense. If you guys behave perfectly the MSM will always find a way to put the spotlight on the RBB even when none exists. Incidents like these (even if it was blown out of proportion) just show that we are our own worse enemy. Why give the haters an excuse to take a shot at the RBB or the MSM to do another story.

I was at the members forum, were you? Club asked to put a stop to further incidents. The club said they were happy to shut down the RBB if there were any further incidents. Is this what you want?
