NPL Macarthur Rams

Catch the boys at Sydney United Sports Centre this weekend!

Friday, 4 August 2017 -@wswanderersfc

This Sunday, the Western Sydney Wanderers face Macarthur Rams at Sydney United Sports Centre in what will be their last home game of the NPL 2 regular season.

Coached by former Derby County player, Eddie Briscoe, Macarthur's results have been mixed with three wins and three losses in their last six games. The Rams have shown that they can match any NPL 2 on the day having registered victories against four of the top six teams.Left winger Mason Versi is the Rams' top scorer with six goals, while midseason acquisition Marcelo Tudera has been in some good form scoring five goals in seven appearances.

Meanwhile, the Wanderers will be confident after their thrilling 2-1 victory over St George FC two weeks ago. Although last week's NPL 2 game against Central Coast Mariners was postponed, there was still some good news with Mathieu Cordier, Mohmed Najjar, Oliver Puflett and Tate Russell all selected for this week's Young Socceroos training camp in Perth.

Adrian Viggiani could be one to watch for the Wanderers on Sunday after scoring from long range for the U20s last weekend. Vigiiani's progression through the Academy has been rapid. He began with the U15s in 2016 and by the end of last year progressed up to the U18s team. This year, he was selected for the U20s squad and has also made three substitute appearances for the NPL 2 squad.

Wanderer Emmanuel Gonzalez will be another player to watch after an excellent performance in the team's victory over St George. Gonzalez was heavily involved in the first goal that night and also got the assist for Lachlan Campbell's late winner. In addition to creating chances, Gonzalez has the ability to find the back of the net and is the team's top scorer with six goals.

The previous meeting between these two sides in Round 10 resulted in a 2-1 win for Macarthur Rams.

Entry to the match is FREE for all Wanderers members, while tickets for non-Members are $10 for Adults and $5 for concession card holders.
