So, the A-League plays the Jets at 7:45 on Saturday at Campbelltown. The Youth League plays the Jets at 2:00pm on Sunday at Cook Park, just up the road.

Why isn't the youth team playing the curtain-raiser before the A-League? Same club, same opponents, same city. Twice the action for fans.

Why is it none of the schedulers think about doing this once in a while?

The venue would charge them double because it would be considered two events.

True - it may cost more (not sure about double as there'd probably be some cost components that wouldn't necessarily be doubled, and there'd be a small offset from the saving of ground hire for the youth league venue), but at the early stages of planning for the year and doing the budget, surely one game per season could be factored in?

Or is the driving force behind the schedule 'where's the cheapest place to play'? (Maybe we could save some money by forfeiting a game or two?)

But seriously, as a one-off showcase event, wouldn't the planners consider it, since it's not that often that the A-League and Youth league align with their home and away game schedule. Other clubs have done it - at Sydney FC's stadium and at the Gabba, and they can't be 'cheap' to stage a second event either.

Anyway - it's not goign to make or break a season. It would just be an added benefit for the fan base.

Any confirmation on the actual time of this game?

Thread subject says 3pm, article says 4pm, offical fixture from FFA says 5.30pm?

I'm going to go by what FFA is saying, just hoping I don't turn up and its all over..

Tyson, worst on park, he had a holler.  We need to hope that Covic doesnt injury himself.  3 goals that tyson let in was just not acceptable. Visconte tried, but lacks pace on the wing, better suited as a defender. I must say  that the score doesnt reflect how well the team  actually played.  Wanderers could have had 2-3 goals in the back of the net as well.  Jets basically blasted the ball long and our young defenders were unable to come to terms with that but tyson should have saved at  least 2-3 of them.

Just look at the team list for the Jets, too. Their starting line-up featured 8 players with A-League game experience. Reserve GK Jack Duncan. Back line Dominic Ritter, Taylor Regan, Andrew Hoole. Midfield Mich Cooper, Jacob Pepper, MItch Oxborrow. Forward Marco Jesic. So - a tough line-up to play against.

Mind you, we did have a lot of opportunities but couldn't get it into the net.

Disappointing that with Vaen Egmont's approach of playing 'stylish' football, the Jets, as longball said, did resort to just banging it long frequently.
