A hat-trick by Striker Jamie Maclaren helped a strong Perth Glory Foxtel NYL team to a convincing 4-1 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers Youth at Intiga Stadium on Sunday morning.

Glory, who has started to find form at the wrong end of the season, recorded their third win in four games and after an even opening 15 minutes, it was the home team that took control of the match with the Wanderers Youth struggling in the Perth heat.

The first real chance of the game came on 21 minutes, when Harry O’Brien found Glory teammate, Ryan Edwards with a cross, but the midfielder was unlucky to see his volley flash just wide of the Wanderers upright.

But Glory only had to wait another three minutes to get the goal they deserved. Jamie Maclaren, showed great skill to weave through the West Sydney defence and slot the ball calmly past the hapless Wanderers Keeper to make it 1-0.

The Wanderers keeper, Thomas Manos, who was kept fairly busy throughout, then came to the rescue of his side soon after with a couple of timely interventions to deny both Adrian Zahra and Ryan Edwards.

Glory keeper, Jack Duncan, was also called into action, and kept his side in front after saving from both Mark Cindric and Jaushua Sotirio shortly after Maclaren’s goal.

In what was an entertaining first half, Glory’s, Jack Clisby and Danny De Silva, both caught the eye with impressive displays. Clisby, being solid at the back and De Silva, marauding up and down the flanks.

Glory continued the second half with the same dominance they showed in the first and were unlucky not to make it two early on with both Zahra and Edwards coming close yet again.

But two goals in two minutes by Maclaren, put Glory in the driving seat and gave the Striker his second hat trick for the NYL side this month. His second goal of the game came after some loose defending by the Wanderers, but the third, was a flash of brilliance, with a curling shot over head of Manos, giving the keeper no chance.

With the game over as a contest, Glory would have been disappointed with the way they allowed Baressi to pull one back for the visitors on 80 minutes. But Adrian Zahra, restored the three goal deficit for the Perth side when he intercepted a tired pass by the Wanderers defence before casually finishing past Manos to make it 4-1 in the final minute.
