    A-League Season 2012/13 Draw Released

Football Federation Australia has released the draw for the 2012/13 A-League season. There are several big matches in store for supporters of football in Western Sydney. The new club will be taking the pitch for their first ever season and across the country people will be looking to see how Tony Popovic's men perform.

The opening match is always a spectacle, with the added history of being the first ever league match it takes on another level of interest.

The Round One opening fixture for West Sydney takes place against Central Coast Mariners on the 6th of October 2012. No stadium was announced for the club.

The hugely anticipated first derby can't come soon enough for those who have waited year after year for a club to enter the league that doesn't just represent people from the Eastern Suburbs, the North Shore and the Sutherland Shire. The A-League was invigorated by the addition of the Melbourne Derby and now with the Sydney Derby the heartland of football has another derby to add onto the Western Sydney football calendar.

    The Sydney Derby

    • Round 3 – 20/10/2012 – Stadium TBA
    • Round 11 – 15/12/2012 – Sydney Football Stadium
    • Round 26 – 23/03/2013 – Stadium TBA

Supporters in NSW will also have the chance to travel to a new series of matches involving the new club. The trips up and down the F3/M1/National 1/Sydney-Newcastle Freeway take less than 3 hours from Sydney to Newcastle and half that to Gosford. I'm sure all the supporter groups will be hoping to take a large contingent to each away match.

    Central Coast play West Sydney:

    • Round 1 – 6/10/2012 – Stadium TBA
    • Round 15 – 6/01/2013 – Stadium TBA
    • Round 23 – 2/03/2013 – Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford

While the Newcastle Jets matches are on the following dates:

    • Round 6 – 10/11/2012 – Stadium TBA
    • Round 20 – 9/02/2013 – Campbelltown Stadium
    • Round 27 – 29/03/2013 – Newcastle Stadium

The other major fixtures of note will be against Melbourne Victory. New coach Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to make his mark as he did in Brisbane. This combined with the prospect of watching West Sydney raised Harry Kewell in action the fixture is sure to attract lots of interest in NSW and across the border. The two clubs come together in these rounds:

    • Round 8 – 24/11/2012 – Stadium TBA
    • Round 14 – 1/1/2013 – Stadium TBA
    • Round 21 – 16/02/2013 – AAMI Park, Melbourne

With only months until the opening match, the race to secure signings and cement tactics is on. A full listing of the draw for the new club will be included in the comment section.

I hope to see you all in Round 1. And earlier for the die-hards.

I hope the Round 20 game against Newcastle at Campbelltown is not an indication that we are going to be wandering from stadium to stadium during the season with no real home ground.

Red - I'm going to presume that the rest of the TBA's are at our actual home ground, and campbeltown is just their way of saying 'we still care about you, south west!' haha. I'm stoked that the SFC home derby is at their actual home though, one less trip to ANZ than what I thought I'd be making. AND hopefully means that the WSFC vs MVFC games wont be at ANZ either.

I'm optimistic about it all to say the least

I have a feeling its the regional round. There's a couple in there for the other teams.

    Round 11 – 15/12/2012 – Sydney Football Stadium

Can't wait to see a packed Sydney Football Stadium full of people dressed in the colour red.

Then those clowns in the Cove might finally realise that the people of Western Sydney haven't been attending their matches because they're lazy, or that it's too far, but in fact it is because Sydney FC is just a sh1t club representing the east, with sh1t fans who can't keep a chant going continuously for more than 1 minute.

Should be the only SFC home game that breaks the 20,000 mark. Possibly the Victory game too, but only if Kewell FC is in town.

round 3 is the date that sydney fc fans realise that talk over the internet is cheap.

pencil it in boys.. will be historic to say the least!

and lets hope its not at anz.. or else we boycott or reverse chant the whole game.. our backs to the field..

I have a feeling it will be in ANZ. Which sucks, because its only Round 3. No way that game will get anywhere near even 30k

reverse chant? Like backmasking? Man I'm keen, if you want to write all the words backwards for us...

im sooo pumped. now please please please no ANZ for the derby!

    why are you whispering? :pardon:

Very happy with that, and what a way to top off the day...

Helmet's paying $3 for a place in the Queen Anne Stakes, you can still get around $4 on Ortensia in the Kings Stand, 8,000 proud Australians are about to take over Royal Ascot, BC and Moody are going to take the piss on Saturday, and the fixtures are out.

The blue ****e on the 20th, then I'm off to the Ponds for the Manikato and the Cox Plate so will have to miss the Suncorp game. If all goes well over that week though, one of you fine upstanding gentleman might need to find me a new liver. If it goes extremely well I might even be able to pay you for the find.

    Ease up MCMLXXXVII

Why on earth would be pay to go to a game (even if it is at ANZ) and stand not watch the game.

JAR was merely pointing out that the idea is prob not going to take hold.

FFS, biggest stitch up of all time.

2 trips to Perth and another 2 to Wellington in the space of 8 or 9 weeks.

Our lads will have no miles left in their legs by Australia Day.

Incorrect - I genuinely have no idea what reverse chanting is.

i got no idea either? :unknw:

Maybe it is just chant towards our seats instead of towards the field?

Maybe it some stadiums it has better acoustics.

Glad to see round one is at home against another NSW team. ANZ Stadium for the derby would be an epic mistake, the atmosphere would be terrible. At least in SFS and PS you are close to the field

Agree, were all looking forward to dropping in to your place for a bbq before or after each of the games at Cumberland Oval. :clapping::crazy::good:
