  • Alberto & Bridge Deliver Three Points For Christmas

    mack

A comfortable 2-0 win for the Wanderers against Newcastle at Parramatta Stadium saw the Wanderers keep first place in the A-League for Christmas.

The first goal came minutes before half time through Alberto Aguilar, Scott Jamieson launched a free kick from the right wing deep to the back post, Aguilar rose completely unmarked to knock a header into the pitch and towards goal. Jets keeper Mark Birighitti made a horribly mess, spilling the ball over the goal line to open the scoring.

Western Sydney had full control of the match and sealed the three points in the 70th minute. Dario Vidosic fired a shot that Birighitti palmed away, with a rebound from Vidosic falling to Bridge, he worked space and shot past the keeper with a crisp finish.

Newcastle had few chances, no-one bar David Carney providing any sort of threat to the league leaders, who have gone 5 clear of Brisbane at the top of the A-League.

Great game , Dimas bossed it and the jets were played off the freaking field.

I don't think pio is getting any better sadly, doubt he's gonna hit his straps this season, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Rumours circulating he's going in January ?

Another win, excellent! Well clear until NYE, with City vs Brisbane on Sunday.

The FFA need to rectify what happened tonight crowd wise. I was trying to be optimistic before the game, turns out I was wrong. The fact many key RBB members couldn't even make it says it all. If it were any other organisation, I'd just think 'oh well, a mistake on their part, they will rectify it'. But this is the FFA, so I have no faith at all.

^^^^No surprise at who rushed here to gloat over the ordinary crowd.

    Crowd: 10,141

I'm quite sad that I was close to the mark in guessing the crowd number, unfortunately this is a wake up call to the FFA to sort there **** out. Very annoyed that I couldn't go, but I'm pretty sure there was a Christmas Eve game last year & it appears the FFA haven't learnt a thing. Idiots!

Mostly just ***** standing there arms folded FFS you're in active support ******* start working.

Then some guy has a cry because he got wet after the goal. Gimme a ******* break.

Oh dear, sounds like it was his first time in the RBB

I would say a number of people in the active bay today were not the usuals. With so many not able to make to the game the tickets would have gone to anyone. Edited by tardotz

We've worked him up before in Bay 65.

A game a few years back he clapped us off at half time for all the heckles.

As soon as he mooned me I stopped heckling. I applauded the whole thing. Legit took me angood minute to stop laughing.

Rushed? I posted it more than an hour after the match finished, and closer to 90 minutes after the figure was actually made public.

Gloat? I don't remember gloating at all; rather, quite simply posting what the crowd was.

Ordinary? Considering it was a Christmas Eve match, which many members (including myself) could not attend, I think it's a decent crowd.

You've built quite an obsession lately with indirect responses to some of my posts.

Shut up or f*ck up, mate.

    I didn't watch the game :(

I could be wrong but is this Alberto first goal for the Wanderers? If so, congrats to him.

It's a great Christmas gift knowing the boys came home with 3 points.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas and everyone gets a gift that's related to the Western Sydney Wanderers. (I know I did, I got the RUN DMC/WST SYD logo shirt and I f*cking love it!)

We won, but I'm a bit worried at how alberto ended up after the final corner.

will be interesting to see the fall out from carney mooning us in the eastern stand.

I remember tomi juric getting a yellow for his celebration at guangzhou for an "inciting gesture".

carney just gets a chat.... fml at these a-league refs.

i was also impressed with the subs today. everyone who came on looked hungry, even santa and his 5 minute cameo.
