Car 1

Make: Nissan
Model: Pulsar GTI-R
Transmission: PAR helical cut 5 speed
Year: 1992
Reason for Purchasing Car: loved hatchbacks since I could drive but my Suzuki GTi just wasn't fast enough, the pulsar has 261kw @ all 4 wheels with a standard head and ignition - I nearly have all the parts needed to upgrade both so looking for over 300kw @ all 4 wheels by xmas.

Car 2

Make: Mitsubish
Model: Lancer GSR
Transmission: Manual
Year: 1993
Reason for Purchasing Car: Always loved GSR's but the 1.8 in them isn't good enough, one came up with everything transplanted over from an EVO II. Broke it the first day I had it so now it's almost completely stripped to a bare shell awaiting a rebuild.

Car 3

Make: Holden
Model: Astra
Transmission: Manual
Year: 2006
Reason for Purchasing Car: Needed something girly and slow so I wouldn't be drawn into making it faster or speeding in, can leave it anywhere and not worry about dents or being stolen

you can get the hotted up version of the astra, with the turbo 147kw decent enough without causing attention

or the next model up which was the HSV VXR with the turbo boosted to 177 kw. Torque steering heaven  :xbop:

in b4 "the automatic transmission thread" vs the "manual transmission thread".

IMO if you're into cars this isn't even really a question. Manual, always.

if you are lazy, auto, i am very very lazy

I think this is me....

Two commodores, both second hand, one light blue the other dark blue and both automatic.

wow, some interesting contrasts for people who are so passionate about football.

Car 1

Make: Morris
Model: 1963 850
Transmission: Mk 2 Cooper S 4 speed manual
Year: 1963
Reason for Purchasing Car: Grew up as a car guy. Dad was the same. When i was 13 dad swapped a bottle of JD for a mini + some spares. Had it ever since. Currently in one trillion bits, but slowly collecting some juicy parts for a rebuild

Car 2

Make: Ford
Model: Fiesta
Transmission: autogaymatic
Year: 2012
Reason for Purchasing Car: Moved to thirlmere, worked at Oatley and my V8 was going to cost me too much. Also loved it too much to see it run into the ground by one of Sydneys shittiest commutes. Sold my ghia and bought Fiesta new in 2013. Did 45k km in 12 months. Time to go because....

Car 3

Make: Ford
Model: Focus XR5 Turbrrrrroooo
Transmission: 6 speed manual
Year: 2008
Reason for Purchasing Car: Sold my balls + soul when i lost my V8. Want some fun without the fuel bills. Arrives on saturday

Weekender

Make: Datsun

Model: 1200 Coupe

Transmission: Manual

Year: 1972

Reason for Purchasing Car: A car I've wanted for 6 years. It's not a standard 1200. It goes, handles and stops really well, and weighs less than 900kg. It feels like driving a go kart.

annnd another ******* sick**** with a classic! there's another Datto 1200 coupe in my area/shire. White, awesome old wheels (possibly SSRs). Whats the story on yours?

old dattos are mad. A good mate bought a 510 recently (actually a 510, not a 1600) and has a SR20 to go in, etc. mad little buzzing cars

Wanted one ever since I had a 1200 Ute as my first car. Every time I drive it, I get a smile from ear to ear.

Bought this almost three years ago, vast majority of work already done to it.

It was owned by a panel beater for over 10 years who did the paint (it's been green and red in previous lives). You can't really make it out but the colour has a nice gold pearl in it.

The next owner (who I bought it from) was the editor of Zoom magazine and built it for circuits (but never raced it). He put in an L18 (1.8L) which has been bored out to a 2.1, twin 40mm Webers, an R30 Skyline 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, van diff, suspension all upgraded/redone, half cage, race seats, 15*6 wheels etc. etc. Car makes about 100kW at the wheels so it's fun but nothing crazy.

I've put in a registrable hand brake, stereo, Mitsubishi FTO seats, removed the cage and a few other bits and pieces to make the car more comfortable. I don't plan on ever selling the car so eventually I'll throw in a CA18DET, or a SR20 N/A quad throttle body motor. Unfortunately you can't legally put an SR20 turbo into a Datsun 1200 (power to weight), which sucks. I also plan on one day respraying her, new weather seals, headlining etc. etc. etc. The list is endless.

I drive a French car. Before you start, **** the lot of you.

Citroën Berlingo 2001 model van. 2 seater lol (comes in handy when people start asking for lifts at parties)

It goes awesome. 200,000km. I'm going to nurse this car until it can't start anymore.

Picked it up for $4,000 just after I finished school in 2006. It needed a bit of work to be done. Replaced the clutch and got new tyres etc. But it was a bargain considering I did most the work myself.

I do most maintenance myself, just changed the oil recently.

I reckon it will start rusting before the engine blows.

It's not red by any chance, is it? If it is, you may have my old van..... there wasn't a set of handcuffs n a roll of duct tape in the back was there? :ninja:

Seriously though, I owned one for 3 years , '99 model 1.4l, good little thing I called Pepe! Lol just thought it was a tad underpowered but did it's job n it's only a 2 seater .

Nope. Although I too have duct tape and handcuffs... My van is white though.

I can feel the poor thing get nervous when we start to push over 110. It doesn't like going much faster than that!

It's a classy European lol, 98 octane only lol
