6 weeks for spitting, 2 weeks for potentially ending someone's career. Ridiculous.

I just looked up the FFA disciplinary rules. They distinguish between challenging and not challenging in red card incidents. Technically Brama was challenging for the ball and was given double the sentence.

Serious foul play (R1), as this tackle has been classified, in my association also receives a 2 match ban.

Whether or not the punishment is adequate is a different question.

5/5 for Easy.

4/5 Medium (found a log-in on bugmenot that let me do the rest). Got tricked by the bad camera angle.

3/5 for Hard. Although I believe their answer for the first one for Hard is wrong, they've put the line on his foot not his shoulder which is further forward. :cheeky:

That's at least A-League quality.

Watching an nba game over the weekend and it showed again just how farcical video refs are.....

Minute to go in a close game....

Hawks player fouled taking a shot ruled a 2 point shot. Player takes 2 free throws. Play continues and knicks player scores and is fouled. While lining up to take the free throw video ref calls refs over to review the previous hawks  play. Its ruled a 3 point attempt so they wipe off the knicks play, wind the clock back and give the hawks player an extra free throw.

The whole episode took 5 minutes+ to sort out and cost the knicks the game. Even when a video ref gets it right as it did in this case it still distorts the game itself.

Its pretty easy to picture a similar schmozz occurring in the a-league and a legitimately scored goal taken away to go back to a penalty shout at the other end.

Its just not workable in most sports but football especially.

I watch the NFL and they are still arguing about how to use the video decades after introducing it, and this is a game that stops every 5 seconds and re-sets the play.

It football it's ridiculous.

If the var was around in the Sir alex era Man Utd probably would have 5 less titles

that’s a good laugh that tweet

Could the English FA and EPL sink the VAR?

One can only hope it's use can modified.

That's not a fair comparison. The two stills are at slightly different times. On the left the ball has already been kicked and the kicker's leg is in follow through. On the right is when the ball is kicked. Using the penalty area as a guide, looks offside to me.

I still don't support the VAR.

I tried to stop the Ikonomidis non goal at the point of contact foot with ball and couldn't. I could see he was onside just before contact and offside just after. How was that a clear error?
