Around the Bloc S03E09: K-Gate

The second derby of the season has come and gone, and the Cove and the RBB were both fans of the team that didn’t win. Tomi Gun’s goal was cancelled out by a screamer from Ibini, and the Wanderers winless and undefeated streaks continue.

The club did, however, perform well at the AFC Awards night, winning Club and Coach of the Year. We lost in the spelling bee, but we hope to continue this winning form on the pitch against Brisbane and Adelaide this week.

This episode is brought to you by the Number 1 (in Asia), the number 10 (in the A-League), and the letter K.

Good episode fellas.

Just on milicic, my point was he was an attacking coach and perhaps he added something extra for our forwards.

From memory, he left after the grand final this year, correct?

So in the 64 competitive matches he had with us, we scored 91 goals - 1.42 per game.

Since then, we've had 15 competitive matches and 14 goals.

Now there's a whole range of factors in there. Erebus said we won the champion's league in that time, and we were much more defensively minded for that competition, it's true. If you take that out - we are still 8 goals from 8 matches since he went in the a-league. Small sample. But anyway - just a thought.

Anyway, good episode - and mic levels were great this time

That's a very good point ciudadmarron,

although I don't think that Ian Crook is useless as an assistant coach though.

Does anyone know what type of midfielder that Ian Crook was?

418 appearances for Nowrich City with 24 goals, sounds like the old school hard working English midfielder

No, and from what speccy was saying he's got a lot to offer. Not a criticism of him at all. Everyone has their strengths and bring something to the table!

Ian Crook is apparently highly regarded as a youth dev coach and will apparently have a big hand in the academy that WSW is wanting to set up. (based off that SMH article ATB shared this morning)

Amazing what happens when everyone has their own mic! :)
