Prydzopolis
Incredible match, football provides those moments that you just can't get in other sports. Absolutely incredible scenes, at 3-1 down in the match & 4-2 down in the tie I thought that it was nigh impossible but to finish 4-3 On the match, incredibly open & so many mistakes defensively from both sides. At 2-0 down you just felt that despite not scoring that they were opening up BD but at 3-1 I just felt it was a mountain to high to scale. Full credit to Liverpool, takes incredible character & belief to pull something like that off, something that I have not seen since the Benitez days. BD, so clinical in the first half but I was surprised at how they played, especially defensively. I must admit I can only count on one hand the amount of games I've watched of them this season but after the way I've seen them play in other games against supposedly bigger/better teams, I'm surprised they struggled so badly. Really impressed by there high intensity game, also they are so dangerous going forward & the clinical nature in front of goals taking advantage of Liverpool's mistakes. In saying that, being 3-1 up they should have been able to hold out 3 goals in 30 minutes, I think Tuchel was found wanting in his substitution & tactics in the final 1/3 of the game. Be absolutely devastated to lose like that! Link to comment
SBW
This game was fit for a final Its just unbelievable, as soon as I turn the tv on, we were down 2-0, and I was like ****, I almost fell asleep in the 1st half cause Liverpool weren't getting anything in attack. 2nd half started, Origi scores, and it was look **** we got achance! but how are we going to score 2 more goals? Reus scores, I was like **** again, Coutinho produces some magic and replicates Stevie G from the 2005 final by revving the crowd and the players. Sakho scores, I was like ****! we're on again! Edge of the seat stuff, see the cross and then **** YES!! Lovren scores! Scaring my wife and Rotweiler Great morning! Link to comment

Guest redwhiteblack
Always strikes me as odd as to why players don't rev up the crowd more often in close games. The crowd lifts, the team lifts, it's an advantage. But it's like the players are scared to do it. Are they told by the coaches to remain professional on the field? Prydzopolis 1 Link to comment

Stokz
Is this the Klopp effect we are finally seeing. Turning nervous wrecks of Lovren / Sakho into dominating defenders. Putting out a b-team against PL opposition and destroying them. I wonder what he can do with a couple more of his signings. Prydzopolis 1 Link to comment

Now when someone comments about the A League heading for the English 80's, we can say damn right. Negligent, reckless and culpable authorities with it. sydneyred
I posted this in March last year, while I was on Merseyside for the first time visiting Anfield. After this evening's verdict, I thought it poignant to repost again. Comprehensive coverage from Merseyside by The Liverpool Echo: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk Despite the excitement of the WSW in a grand final in Adelaide this weekend, as an LFC fan, I felt compelled to stop & acknowledge that 96 LFC fans that went to a football match & never went home can finally RIP. As somebody in Liverpool posted on Twitter, "A city can finally breathe." Our thoughts are with the 96 & their brave families, who never gave up the fight. After 27 long years. After all the government & establishment lies & deceit. After the unjustified attacks & ridicule of a unique & underestimated city & its people... Finally. Justice. YNWA. https://www.flickr.com/gp/140576985@N06/g24hEn The Hillsborough Justice Campaign office is directly across the narrow road from The Kop. Visible from the doorway is a Sydney Reds scarf, from the Official Liverpool Supporters Club of NSW, of which I am a member. Several other scarves & banners of support inside the office & upstairs. At the front of the store, I ensured a WSW scarf was hung proudly in support of the 96 & their families. I watched as countless fans from all over the world visiting Anfield for the first time, entered to find out more about the Hillsborough Justice Campaign from Gerry, the elderly gentleman with the white hair. Needless to say, it regularly brought Gerry close to tears & put a lump in my throat, exacerbated by the fact that new & disturbing findings at the time were emerging daily from the Hillsborough Inquiry taking place in Warrington. They are genuinely grateful for any support. Hillsborough Justice Campaign: http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/ Justice for the 96! Yeah, my fb news feed has been full of chat about La Liga being the strongest League. It still evidently is, but im glad it isn't a spanish whitewash So chuffed, a great night. The Klopp effect. There is no way BR could have taken us here. The players have so much more confidence and when they win or score it means so much more. Looks at Spurs away to Dortmund. Was being facetious, when you can get substantially more money for coming in the bottom half of the premier league than you can for making a late run in the Europa league it is easy to understand why English teams haven't really had much success in the competition. It's just the reality of playing in England. Link to comment

CL football would be great after Klopps first season in charge. Also, for us there isn't much glamour in finishing mid-pack of the EPL, but finishing as Europa Cup holders would be great for the trophy cabinet and self esteem. Then the winner gets to play in the UEFA Super Cup. There's glamour and respect attached to both trophies. Hopefully we can get there NickNova, MartinTyler, pseudonym and 3 others 6 Link to comment
