I notice the article mentions they need financial support to continue existing and provides a link to donate. I'll kick the can.

Is there a thread for the Matildas??  Sorry if this is the wrong place to drop this.

From tonight's 7.30.  Sorry also for the number of times the word "soccer" is used.

Oh well... at least they put together a nice little item here.

Look, I get that this is their job and with a limited career span they have to try and make as much as they can but save it for the clubs. Playing for your country should be about pride and honour, forget the money.

professional footballers squabbling over a few thousand dollars when there are millions of people that would gladly do it for free...

Do the PFA kick up a stink before every major outing? First wanderers, now socceroos...

Yes.

As long as money is involved. If the issue is excessive travel or a schedule which requires a team to play twice in less than 48 hours the PFA are nowhere to be seen.

Mustafa Amini signs for Danish Club, Randers FC. What a bizarre career move, from one of the top clubs in the BL to what seems to me as a third tier of European leagues. Thoughts people?

Kid needs games & knows he'll get to play every week at his new club. Luongo did the same leaving Tottenham for the 3rd tier. Definitely not a great European league, but he's not signed there planning to see out his 3 or 4 year contract. Looks like the European version of moving back to HAL to restart a career. I hope it works out for him

Unless he has an absolute blinder of a season, like player of the season I'm talking here, then he's just going to get lost into the football wilderness. If he's gonna play in one of these saller leagues then he'd at least want to be playing for one of the bigger clubs, Randers isn't that. Would've made way more sense to come home. Seems like a pride thing to me to be honest.

I know West 13 made reference to Tarek and his family's loss on another thread.

I'll leave this here....

What a tragic story.

In addition to playing for their country, Tarek and his teammates have a little bit extra to play for after this!

something in Russian that the local reporters found very funny.

Unfortunately the Australian press have no idea what it was.

The translators let it go straight through to the keeper.
